McNair teacher arrested
A 24-year-old McNair High School teacher was jailed this morning on accusations that she had a sexual relationship with a student.

Christina Eve Oliver, of Stockton, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail, where she is being held on $125,000 bail.
Stockton police learned of the allegations Tuesday when parents of a 16-year-old boy contacted them, Officer Pete Smith said.
Oliver and the boy allegedly communicated in person and by text messages, said Smith, who did not know how long the relationship had been going on.
Officers arrested the woman Tuesday night in public near the victim's home, but Smith declined to give details about why she was there.
She is being held on felony allegations of arranging to meet a child for indecent exposure and communicating with a minor to commit a sex crime, as well as a misdemeanor of annoying or molesting a child.
Prosecutors will file actual legal charges, but "the allegations are that she was sexually involved with the student," Smith said.
Oliver is scheduled to be arraigned in court Friday.
McNair High School is located on West and Morada lanes and is part of Lodi Unified School District.
Smith said officers do not believe Oliver was involved with other students but they do ask if anyone has more information about the specific incident that they call the department at 937-8377.

" This is sad and wrong. But how many of YOU had sex at 13,14,15,16,17? Do not be a hypocrite if YOU DID! I wish everyone would wait til 18, but it is not gonna happen. "
You can't seriously be equating this teacher to student sex crime to two teenagers getting involved with each other. "

We're not surprised your son asked this question, dyan. "

Unfortunately, many teens don't wait 'til adulthood or marriage to have sex. But a more accurate question from you two would be, "How many of you had sex with a teacher (or adult authority figure) when you were teens?"
That's really the issue here, and the answer to that question would be, not many. "

What this teacher did was her own fault, and now she's paying for it, so just leave her alone and get on with life. "

This is nothing less than child rape and molestation. It seems like people think it's ok if it's an older woman and a younger boy. This is no different than if she were a male, and the 16 year old were female.
There is not joke to it, nothing funny about it, and I hope if she's guilty that she's prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law. "

I hope you're not really an educator. I was in school over twenty years ago, too. I remember rumors about certain teachers and snide remarks from a few students, but it was all hush-hush. I'm hoping that was because there was nothing to the rumors.
Stories like this are in the news all too often nowadays. What's wrong with people? "
