Democratic presidents weaken our country

Wednesday, February 4, 2009 5:59 AM PST

Unlike Michelle Mamini, I was not so proud. I have lowered and taken down my flag.

She is happy that she voted for her children, my children and our country. She, like all liberals, are calling for peace, give Obama a chance — if he makes mistakes, that's OK because he will learn from them, and please support him. Let me remind you that from the moment President Bush took office, you called him names and never let up. Then came Sarah Palin; you called her names, said she was unqualified, attacked her family and then you attacked her baby with Down syndrome. Obama said attack me but not my family, yet you set the example. Martin Luther King Jr. said judge a man not by his color but rather by his character. Well, you voted for a man based on his color and not qualifications. His character is clear: His friends and appointees are under federal investigation for all kinds of corruption. It's OK for them to make mistakes, be sloppy, or have hiccups, but not the Republicans. They are crucified by the media and those in power and then their careers are assassinated.

Why are Democrats above the law? Clinton never protected us. He was more interested in himself, he lied under oath, he and Janet Reno burned alive women and children at Waco, Texas, then sent in the FBI to take a young Cuban boy away from his uncle at gunpoint in Florida. Now Obama will close Gitmo and give the terrorists a fair and legal trial with the taxpayer paying the bill. He wants them to have the Geneva Convention application of process. Did they give Nick Burg the same when they cut off his head?

Now Pelosi and Reed are seeking to take away our first amendment — freedom of speech — with the so-called "fairness doctrine." They want to impose this doctrine that destroys talk radio and silences the voices of millions of Americans who disagree with their vision of America.

All you liberals did was weaken our country. Every Democratic president has weakened our country, weakened our defenses, and Obama will do the same. What's next, take away our guns?

We will give Obama the same respect liberals gave president Bush. We stand divided.

You're making yourself quite clear that you don't like our military and it's overall humanitarian cause. The 26 million Iraqis who have been liberated from Saddam nay not be the right people for you to make such bold statements to. "

And where is your proof that the U.S. has not done more for suffering and oppressed Muslims than any nation, Muslim or non-Muslim, anywhere on earth?

And why would you not want this country to be recognized as doing this? "

" Another clip:

The two Balkan interventions -- as well as the failed 1992-93 Somali intervention to feed starving African Muslims (43 Americans were killed) -- were humanitarian exercises of the highest order, there being no significant U.S. strategic interest at stake. In these 20 years, this nation has done more for suffering and oppressed Muslims than any nation, Muslim or non-Muslim, anywhere on earth. Why are we apologizing?

And what of that happy U.S.-Muslim relationship that Obama imagines existed "as recently as 20 or 30 years ago" that he has now come to restore? Thirty years ago, 1979, saw the greatest U.S.-Muslim rupture in our 233-year history: Iran's radical Islamic revolution, the seizure of the U.S. embassy, the 14 months of America held hostage. "

Brian wrote on Feb 9, 2009 6:30 PM:

Is it "new" to acknowledge Muslim interests and show respect to the Muslim world? Obama doesn't just think so, he said so again to millions in his al-Arabiya interview, insisting on the need to "restore" the "same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago."

Astonishing. In these most recent 20 years -- the alleged winter of our disrespect of the Islamic world -- America did not just respect Muslims, it bled for them. It engaged in five military campaigns, every one of which involved -- and resulted in -- the liberation of a Muslim people: Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq. "

He has only been in office for two weeks, and already those whom were fooled but kept their ability to think for themselves are finally jumping off of the band wagon.

He promised to have zero lobyists in his administration. That lasted one day. Yesterday, he appointed the CEO of G.E. to his economic advisors group. You have got to be kidding. G.E. makes everything, from kitchen gadgets to jet engines. Health care, "green energy", and they own NBC and all of its siblings. So not only does he have the president's ear about financial decisions (he stands to suck Billions if not Trillions from our wallets) he can decide what most of you watch on your televisions as so called "news". " Mr. Esparza exhibits a great deal of courage with his letter- and he is spot on. Obama stated yesterday, regarding Tom Daschle's situation, "We can't send a message to the American people that we've got two sets of rules -- one for prominent people and one for ordinary people."

Well, Mr. President, that train left the station with Geithner. But just as you did with your precious Reverend Wright, there are those who will still be tossed under the bus for political expediency. Talk about hypocrisy. But then what are people now saying about Obama's actions? Oh, that at least when he makes mistakes, he's man enough to admit it. No, when he's caught with his drawers down, he pretends to have some grit.

But what about poor Tom Daschle? Why is he not afforded the same pass as Geithner? I thought both of these men were the only ones to save us. This administration has gotten off to a terrible start, and very few people (and especially the media) are holding him accountable. Bush never got that consideration.

Forget about 3:00 a.m., this President doesn't have a clue during the light of day. "

" In the short time Obama has been president, his approval ratings are already heading south. The bank bailout is an absolute joke. He can't seem to find any honest people in his own party to appoint to high positions. Don't worry Mr. Esparza, others will point out that the Emperor is naked soon enough. "

" Leonard said: "...when 72% of Americans say they don't approve of you, that means there's an awful lot of Republicans casting stones as well."

Well said, Leonard, and absolutely correct because Bush and cronies were NOT Republicans, but neo-cons, a whole different kind of animal. ***Real*** Republicans repudiated Bush along with the Democrats. "

" "Now Obama will close Gitmo and give the terrorists a fair and legal trial with the taxpayer paying the bill"

So, we should give them an unfair and illegal trial? Either way, the taxpayer is paying the bill. And we are paying the bill to hold them, without a trial, as well. "

" What a load of steaming horse manure!

After 9/11, George W. Bush enjoyed the greatest bi partisan support any American President had known. For a moment, the people of America stood united behind one man.

Bush, however, had come to power on the politics of division and he evidently was incapable of leaving those politics behind. He and Karl Rove knew that they only needed 50.0001% of the vote to win reelection and they were only going to govern this country for those 50.0001%, the other 49.9999% be damned!

Of course, that worked pretty well for him in the short term but, ultimately, when the bodies began to pile up and the economy slowly slid towards disaster, Bush was left with nothing but the 20% or so of Americans who formed his base.

The result is that he is one of the most hated and reviled Presidents in US History. Partisan hacks like Mr Esparza can try to blame that on the liberals but, when 72% of Americans say they don't approve of you, that means there's an awful lot of Republicans casting stones as well. "

" Wow, talk about being Republican and blind to all else. You must like this recession we are in and you probably want Bush to come back and lead us into still muddier waters. Wake up out there. "
