"Yes, I do, because S.C. got left out this year."
Andreas Kazos

"Absolutely. Too many bowls. It gets too boring and you lose scope and direction."
Everett Brown

"I don't think it would be practical. You look at the pros and they have four to six weeks of playoffs. I don't think they could do that with college. It would take too long."
Kevin Castles

"Yeah. I just like the playoff system.

" It does to a degree Cogito, but since a team's overall record determines their BCS standing, they would rather beat a cupcake than possibly lose to a strong opponent. If conference record were more important (like in hoops), we might see some better and more frequent pre-conference matchups between powerhouse schools.

Just a pipe dream I'm afraid.... "

" B Hussein L, doesn't the BCS account for the "cupcake" problem? Beating easy teams gives you less points than beating good ones. But I like your idea, I'd go for that scenario. "

" That's why the last place pro's should play. I think the College team might win a surprising number of those. And it might be enough of an insult to play them that these over paid pros might play with a little more intensity to stay off the bottom list. "

" They used to have a college all stars vs. Super Bowl champions game back in the seventies. I recall it being a huge blowout every time for the pros. "

" I think it would be wrong to go to a playoff system since it would create an overly competitive atmosphere for our youth. While one team would win there would be too many young kids who would see themselves as losers since they didn't "win". I think the games should be played but no score kept and the teams randomly seleced from both rosters to eliminate the 'us vs them' mentality. Thus by eliminating the idea of losers from the cometition none of the players would suffer low self-esteem problems. Everyone could get a small trophy just for showing up since everyone would be a winner.

Okay, I'm joking. Give me the playoffs. I want to see who's the best.

While we're at it I'd love to see an exhibition game where the first place team plays the last place team in the NFL. Unfortunatly, I think my Lions would be the regular losers of such a game. "

" The 8 major conference champs go, plus 8 at-large teams. That way winning your conference means something. Strong schools will schedule less cupcakes at the start of the season because winning your conference will mean more than overall records.

A college football playoff will make the NCAA basketball tournament look like a barn dance! "

" Use the BCS to pick the top 16. A week after the last regular season game, start the playoffs. Many teams sit idle for a month waiting for the bowl season. We could still have the national championship some time around the new year. The problem to overcome is to talk the NCAA out of the cash cow that is our current bowl system. There's your biggest obstacle. "
