Van Ruiten hired by Stockton law firm
The Stockton law firm of Neumiller & Beardslee has announced that they have added Melissa Van Ruiten to their outfit as an associate attorney.

Van Ruiten, a native of Stockton, graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Pacific with a B.A. in Political Science in 2005. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2008, with distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While at McGeorge, she was a recipient of the Barrister's Scholarship, Academic Achievement Scholarship, on the Dean's List for three years and became a life member of the Traynor Honor Society.
Van Ruiten also served on the McGeorge Law Review as a legislative staff writer, comment staff writer and as the chief managing editor of the Volume 39 Board of Editors.
Van Ruiten also worked at the California Office of the Attorney General for three years during her years at school.
In 2008, Van Ruiten was admitted to practice in California. Her areas of practice include trusts, probate, estate planning, local agency law, agricultural law, real property law and general business law.
Former banker joins mortgage company

Jim Pickett recently joined the Mortgage Modification Center in Stockton, which specializes in helping homeowners stay in their homes.
Before joining MMC, Pickett was employed by American Savings Bank, Union Federal, ITT Aetna, Community Lending and Live Well Financial. He was also vice president at Mortgage Loan Servicing, managing modification and assumptions, customer service, payment processing and payoff demand, installment loans, manual control and general ledger reconciliation.
Pickett has been a branch manager, senior loan officer and loss mitigation manager. He recently returned to the area from Jasper, Ind.
Yang announced as president and CEO
Premier Community Credit Union has added Paul Yang as their new president and CEO.

"With over eight years in the credit union industry, we feel (Yang's) expertise will be utilized well," said Allan Patterson, Chairman of the Board of Premier.
Yang was previously the executive vice president of Eagle Legacy Credit Union in Colorado, overseeing product and service development, security and compliance and overall organization technology initiatives, according to a press release issued by Premier.
Premier Community Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative providing financial services to its member base in San Joaquin County.
