Lodi Police Department
In the 48 hours after 9 a.m. Wednesday, the Lodi Police Department handled 329 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:
Friday
Two women fighting
12:02 a.m.: Two women were fighting at Valley Rentals, 309 W. Pine St. One accused the other of stealing money, though police didn't find it in her possession, and a door was kicked in. An hour later a resident was throwing things around inside the apartment.
Fight
12:05 a.m.: Two females and two males were fighting in the 1900 block of Scarborough Drive, and someone was ultimately arrested on a warrant.
Stolen Car
5:38 a.m.: A female was suspected of stealing a gray four-door Honda Civic at Cambridge Place Apartments, 445 Almond Drive.
Drugs
7:48 a.m.: Someone had drugs at Kettleman Lane and Hutchins Street.
Stolen Cans
8:12 a.m.: Two bicycling men stole recyclable cans in the 500 block of South School Street, then pedaled away. A neighbor followed them to a recycling center on Tokay Street, got the cash they received for the cans and took it to the victim.
Thursday
Gunshot Heard
12:01 a.m.: In the first police call of 2009, someone heard a gunshot at Incline and Boreal drives.
Fireworks
12:09 a.m.: Three males happened to light fireworks just as an officer drove past them at Stockton and Vine streets. The fireworks were confiscated.
Juvenile Drinkers
12:22 a.m.: Underage youths were drinking on Jayhawk Drive.
Loud motel party
12:58 a.m.: People were partying loudly at Holiday Inn Express, 1140 S. Cherokee Lane.
First 2009 arrest
1:16 a.m.: A drunken man was refusing to leave Garry's Lounge, 13 S. School St. The 33-year-old was arrested for public intoxication, becoming the first person booked into jail for 2009.
DUI driver vs. railroad arm
2:44 a.m.: Injuries were reported after a drunken driver crashed into the railroad crossing arm on Harney Lane near Hutchins Street.
Fight, then locked out
4:08 a.m.: After a domestic fight, a female was locked out of the apartment in the 1800 block of South Church Street. A 20-year-old male was arrested for domestic violence.
Public Urination
4:15 a.m.: A drunken man was urinating on the "front porch" of Hotel Lodi, 7 S. School St.
Crying, screaming and warrants
8:37 a.m.: A female was crying and a man was screaming in the 300 block of West Locust Street. A man was arrested on warrants.
Christmas tree in road
9:46 a.m.: A Christmas tree was in the eastbound lanes of Turner Road near Stockton Street.
Messy Divorce
11:57 a.m.: A woman suspected her soon-to-be ex-husband of taking $14,000 from her checking account.
Drunk by noon
12:04 p.m.: The drunken driver of a white Nissan almost hit a car on Pacific Avenue, then stopped in the 600 block of South Ham Lane. A 36-year-old man was arrested.
Sick Driver
2:25 p.m.: The possibly drunken driver of a red Pontiac Grand Prix was opening the door to throw up. The car was last seen heading north on Washington Street.
Residential Burglary
3:30 p.m.: Someone broke into a home in the 300 block of Concord Street.
Drug Arrest
5:17 p.m.: A 44-year-old man had drugs at Stockton and Elm streets.
Mother vs. daughter
5:49 p.m.: After a fight in the 1600 block of Holly Drive, a mother locked her daughter out of the home.
Domestic Violence
7:09 p.m.: A 31-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence on Chablis Drive.
Vandalism
9:18 p.m.: Someone tagged the word "rat" on a garage at Cambridge Place Apartments, 445 Almond Drive.
Fight inside Wal-Mart
11:07 p.m.: A customer and an employee, both females, got into a fight near the fitting room inside Wal-Mart, 2350 W. Kettleman Lane. One female, who was pregnant, was bleeding from the forehead. Police reports weren't written yet Friday, and no further information was available.
Stolen pizza sign
11:25 p.m.: Someone made off with a pizza sign from Dominos Pizza, 1012 W. Lodi Ave.
Wednesday
Possible Assault
11:32 a.m.: Three males and a female dragged a male out of a vehicle, beat him up, then put him back inside the white Chevrolet van. Then they left Salas Park, 2001 S. Stockton St.
Fight
1:26 p.m.: A man and a woman got into a fight at Golden Era Hotel, 18 S. Main St. He was soon found, and arrested, at a bar.
Auto Theft
2:22 p.m.: A car was stolen during the night at Wimbledon Square Apartments, 602 Wimbledon Drive.
Man arrested on warrant
2:50 p.m.: After a man and a woman got into a fight at Mills Avenue and Tienda Drive, he was arrested on a Galt warrant.
Domestic Violence
3:07 p.m.: A Pinkerton Way man was arrested for domestic violence.
Fight and vandalism
4:36 p.m.: Eight teenagers got into a fight at Carlo Way and Lockeford Street, damaging property in the process. Then they left in a gray Chevrolet truck.
Staggering Man
4:51 p.m.: A possibly drunken driver left an open beer in the cab of his gray Chevrolet truck, then staggered into Salisbury Market, 2401 W. Turner Road. He was gone when police arrived.
Father vs. daughter
8:31 p.m.: A father and a daughter got into a fight in the 400 block of Hilborn Street.
Domestic violence, including kicking
8:49 p.m.: A man was kicking a woman who was on the ground in the 700 block of West Kettleman Lane. He was arrested for public intoxication and domestic violence.
Street Brawl
11:03 p.m.: Ten people, some armed with rocks, were fighting at Washington and Vine streets. A 24-year-old man was arrested, and he had the honor of being the last arrest for the year.
Beer Theft
11:53 p.m.: Two men stole beer from Quik Stop, 1721 S. Cherokee Lane.
