Radio Shack burglarized three times in month
For the third time in 30 days, Radio Shack was burglarized early Tuesday morning.
In each incident, the suspects smashed a window at the 230 W. Kettleman Lane store, made off with electronics and soon fled.
There have been no arrests.
Tuesday's burglary happened at 3:21 a.m., when a broken window triggered an alarm. By the time Lodi police arrived two minutes later, the culprits were gone, leaving behind a smashed window.
Two weeks earlier, police were called to the business at 4:24 a.m. on Dec. 17. The front glass door had been smashed, a large rock rested nearby and wet tire tracks were left in front of the store. Two laptops were missing, according to police.
On Nov. 30, a large window was shattered, setting off an alarm at 11:54 p.m. Security footage showed three males smashing the window with a planter, filling bags with laptops and music players and leaving the store in less than a minute. Few suspect details could be seen on the footage.
Lodi police net five in DUI patrol
Lodi police officers, working with officers from other departments, arrested five people suspected of driving under the influence during the weekend.
According to a statement released by Officer Dale Eubanks, the patrol began on Saturday and focused on the Lodi and Woodbridge area, Highway 12 from Lodi to Flag City, West Lane from Lodi to Eight Mile Road and from Lodi to Victor Road.
Eubanks noted that one of the drivers arrested for DUI had a blood alcohol content of .31, a little less than four times the legal limit of .08.
Officers made 66 traffic stops, performed a dozen sobriety checks, made one criminal arrest, issued 16 citations and towed eight vehicles.
Since the beginning of the holidays, officers have arrested 25 people in the Lodi area for DUI.
Work delays expected on Highway 12
Work to repair damaged "channelizer posts" on Highway 12 will likely require delays of up to 20 minutes in each direction, according to the California Department of Transportation.
Channelizer posts, usually a bright yellow, are placed in the middle of the roadway to help delineate driving lanes.
The work will take place between Denverton Road near Suisun City and Drouin Road in Rio Vista between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday.
Work could be delayed because of rain.
