Flames ride charity to victory
Gabby Munsch scored 15 points and the Lodi High varsity girls basketball team was able to overcome 10 Bellevue, Wash., 3-pointers in a 52-44 victory on Monday night in the San Diego Surf N' Slam Tournament.
The Flames recovered from a 29-23 halftime deficit with a strong second-half performance, holding Bellevue to 15 points in the final two quarters.
Lodi had a big advantage at the free-throw line, hitting 14 of 21 attempts while the Wolverines never went to the line.
Jessie Saner scored 10 points for Lodi, Kelsi Meier added nine, Erin DeSnayer netted eight, Jill McMillen recorded seven and Shantel Dickerson chipped in two for the Flames (8-5).
Lodi will be back in action today with a game against Chugiak, Alaska.

Lynice Schallberger had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Tigers (5-6) in the Tracy Tournament.
Olympia Lopez added six points and seven rebounds and Rachael Hernandez had six points.
Tori Schallberger had four points, Alyssa Whitson had two points and five rebounds and Nicole Gutierrez scored two points. Ashley Poutre had five boards.

Sydney Correa had 22 points to lead the Tigers (3-8) in the Sierra Tournament.
Angel Martinez scored four and Shannon Finnegan, Amber Ali and Jocelyn Shilue had two apiece.

The Tigers scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to rally for the victory in the third-place game of the Sierra Tournament.
Priscilla Gutierrez scored 13 points for the Tigers and was named to the all-tourney team. Paige Kininmonth had 12 points, Victoria Villanueva had four and Shayna Kharufeh added one.
Tokay fell to West 39-31 on Saturday. Gutierrez had 17 points, Kininmonth and Lacy Cowin each had six and Villanueva added two.

Colton Machado had 17 points and Jeff Dickerson added 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Flames in the overtime loss in the Napa Tournament.
Pini Silva had three points and 10 assists, Andrew Todd had 11 points, Greg Herzfeldt scored eight and Garrett Hanna added five.
Lodi will play Acalanes in the third-place game today at 6:30 p.m.
Lodi defeated Davis 49-48 in overtime on Saturday night. Hanna led the way for the Flames 16 points, including four 3-pointers.
Dickerson recorded 10 points and eight rebounds for Lodi, Silva scored 10 points, Machado added nine points and nine assists and Herzfeldt and Todd each chipped in two points.

Registration
The Tokay Flying Tigers 7th grade (13U) and 8th grade (14U) boys basketball teams will be holding registration and practices for boys bound for Tokay, Elliott, Bear Creek or McNair high schools today (6 to 8 p.m.), Jan. 6 (6 to 8 p.m.) and Jan. 8 (6 to 8 p.m.).
