Meier's 21 leads Flames to Grant consolation title
Kelsie Meier scored 21 points on Saturday night, helping the Lodi girls varsity basketball team defeat Fairfield 63-51 to win the consolation championship of the Grant Winterfest Tournament.
Meier went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line and hit a 3-pointer on the night. Gabby Munsch added 14 points for the Flames, Erin DeSnayer scored 13 and Kate Ehlers added 11. Jill McMillen and Jessie Saner each chipped in two points for Lodi (7-4).

Mcnair 58, Tokay 50
The Tigers fell in the Linden Tournament on Friday night despite getting 25 points from the Schallberger sisters. Lynice scored 13 and Tori scored 12 to go with 10 rebounds for Tokay. Rachel Hernandez added nine points and had three rebounds, Nicole Gutierrez and Kelsey McCarty each scored six, and Olympia Lopez and Alyssa Whitson each added two.

The Schallberger sisters teamed up for 28 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough for Tokay (2-5). Lynice finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Tori scored 13 points and pulled down four boards. McCarty scored 10 points, Hernandez recorded six, along with eight boards, Lopez had four points and six rebounds and May May Ryans added one point.

Lodi 45, Merced 35
Autumn Stewart scored 16 points, helping the Flames when the consolation final of the Grant Tournament on Saturday. Taylor Sousa added 13 points for Lodi, Betsy Colburn netted 11 and Amanda Barba totaled eight as the Flames moved to 7-4. Stewart was named to the all-tournament team.

In beating Linden, the Flames (8-3) earned the Grant High School Tournament Championship. Kendra Sanguinetti led the way with 13 points and six steals, Nicole Hoffmann scored nine points and pulled down eight rebounds, Alyssa Magana had four points and six rebounds, Michelle Ono scored four points and grabbed 15 rebounds, Riley Enos netted three points and had four rebounds. Hoffmann was named to the all-tournament team and Sanguinetti was selected as the tournament's MVP.

Lodi 68, Vacaville 27
Four Flames hit double digits in scoring as the Lodi varsity boys basketball team beat Vacaville to take seventh place in the Mesa Verde Tournament on Saturday. Mujihid Khan led Lodi with 11 points including three 3-pointers and Geeze Borges, Steven Cockrum and Thomas Miller each scored 10 points. Ryan Gaarder totaled nine, Conner Birtwhistle scored eight, Jon Herman added six and Brandon Sasaki and Kyle Larrabee each scored two for Lodi (7-5).
Bradshaw 60, Elliot 32
Despite 19 points from Bubba Wall, the Eagles fell to Bradshaw in the consolation final of the Viking Classic in Carmichael on Saturday. Bradshaw was helped by five 3-pointers from James Hackleman. Travis Dodd scored four points for the Eagles, Andrew Cotton had three and Phil Wiggins, Kona Olson and Cameron Elmore each added two points.

Lodi 3-2 at Warrior Classic
Five wrestlers put up 5-0 records on Saturday at the Warrior Classic, helping the Flames go 3-2 on the day in the dual tournament.
Garrett Bertsch, wrestling at 103 pounds, was undefeated with four pins and Conner Silva, who also wrestled at 103 pounds, also won all five of his matches and totaled two pins. Ulices Vazquez, Lodi's 135 pounder, pinned all five of his opponents, Khenyada Beck, at 152 pounds, had four pins in his five wins and 171 pounder Dillon Smith had three pins in his five victories.
The Flames beat Natomas 64-18, Stagg 42-39 and Christian Brothers 50-18. They lost to Franklin of Elk Grove 48-30 and Sierra Ridge 48-39.

Brian Farber led the way with a team best four goals in Saturday's 11-3 Stockton Cougars win at Stockton Arena over Off the Wall Soccer Santa Clara. The win pushes the Cougars (4-1 PASL-Pro, 6-1 overall) to the third round of the United States Arena Soccer Open Cup Championship on Jan. 11 at Stockton Arena.

The Ontario Reign scored four power-play goals, three on two-man advantage situations to send the Stockton Thunder (10-13-4, 24 points) to a 6-2 defeat before 4,306 at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Sunday.
Maxime Boisclair led Ontario with two goals while John Murray made 28 saves. Thunder left winger Mike Lalonde scored a goal in the second period to become the all-time leading scorer in Stockton Thunder history, surpassing Nathan Martz with 123 points in a Thunder uniform.
