Homes for the holidays
Lodi homeowners to share their holiday decor in Omega Nu's annual Holiday Home Tour
Are you yearning for the festive feeling of Christmas? An abundance of angels, Christmas trees and colors of red, white, green and gold will help ring in the season at some local homes and businesses at the Omega Nu Sorority's annual Holiday Home Tour on Sunday. To benefit charity organizations, five homes and two businesses will be open for those who wish to view Christmas decor. Each homeowner has chosen a nonprofit organization to donate funds to.
In addition to the homes, Uncorked will be open for appetizers and coffee and the World of Wonders Science Museum will be open for wine and appetizers.
Wheeler home
As you enter the Wheeler home, you are greeted by a Christmas wreath on the front door and two Christmas trees on each side of the door. A sled with a reindeer sits ready to greet the home's guests in the entryway on the inside. Angels sit atop the mantel of the home's large fireplace. Across from that, on a table, sits a white miniature fireplace with Santa on one side and a dog sitting in a chair on the other. Other Santas fill the room, along with some Christmas greenery along the top of the bookcase and up the stairs.
Located on the lake course of the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club, the home was designed by Bob and Dianne Wheeler. Along with its welcoming fireplace, it features a sunken bar with granite countertops, his and hers separate bathrooms, an oversized closet, 12 television screens and an open backyard leading into the golf course.
Dianne Wheeler said she loves the openness of the home and the warmth it provides.
"I can be in the kitchen and can see what's going on. When we're entertaining, I don't miss anything," she said.

Her favorite decoration is the Santa that sits on a chair, which she has placed under the decorative table in the front room. She said they acquired it at an auction for the Lodi Boys and Girls Club.
Because Bob Wheeler has been very involved with the Boys and Girls Club, that is the organization they chose to raise funds for.
"This was a chance to do something for our community," said Dianne Wheeler.
Jackson home
The Jackson home is filled with Santas, miniature Christmas trees, ceramic carolers and wreaths adorning the home's three fireplaces. Another wreath hangs in their teenage daughter's room and features a teen magazine and a Cosmo magazine, along with other ornaments.
Tucked away in the middle of 25 acres of vineyards, the home features exposed wood beam trusses and forged iron chandeliers in the living room, travertine floors and a stone and woodbeam fireplace. The large gourmet kitchen features a cast stone fireplace and large windows overlook the outside gathering area, which includes a swimming pool and fireplace.

Lisa Jackson said she enjoys the feel of the home.
"There's not a room you can't live in," she said. "It can be what it is, but is still homey."
She enjoys their Christmas tree decorations, the sentimental ornaments and collecting for the up-and-coming themes.
Since her mother and her sister-in-law are breast cancer survivors, the Jacksons have chosen to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
"It is something that is close to my heart," she said.
Maggetti home
Inside the Maggetti home is a Christmas wonderland. To the left of the entrance is the sports room that features a tall Christmas tree adorned in brown raffia bows, and a big Christmas throw rug lies on the floor.
The dining room features blue and gold ornaments on the table and on a small Christmas tree. On the table in the kitchen sits a mini Christmas tree with poinsettia plants around it. Big red bows are tied around the table's chairs.

The living room, which Ruthie Maggetti calls the black and white room, is decorated with bits of white, black-andred in throw pillows, blankets, poinsettias, candles and toy soldiers which line the top of a bookshelf. Their main bath is decked out in white poinsettias and greenery with gold decorations.
Located in Sun West, the Maggetti's home features the sports room, with various sports articles and memorabilia on the wall, and a spacious kitchen and living room area, with windows looking out into a large backyard.
The Maggettis enjoy the size of their home and feel it is perfect for the two of them. They also love their neighborhood.
"We have the best neighbors ever," said Ruthie Maggetti.
Her favorite decoration is the large throw rug in the sports room that features Santa filling stockings.
While in high school, the Maggetti's daughter was diagnosed with ITP, which is a blood disorder. For this reason, they decided to raise funds for the Platelet Disorder Support Association.
"I decided to enter when I was told I could donate to whatever nonprofit organization we wanted to," said Ruthie Maggetti.
