Martha Dietz
Homemaker
Martha Dietz, 90, of La Grande, Ore. and formerly of Lodi, died Nov. 26. She was born Martha Trick on Jan. 8, 1918, in Anamoose, N.D.
Mrs. Dietz moved to Lodi with her family in the early 1930s. She married Roland Dietz on Nov. 2, 1941, in Reno, Nev. She remained a longtime resident of Lodi until May 2008, when she moved to La Grande, Ore.
Mrs. Dietz was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 22 of Lodi. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed crafts, making custom Christmas ornaments, knitting, sewing, gardening and playing bingo.
She is survived by her brothers, Carl Trick, of Cowdrey, Colo., and Leslie Trick, of La Grande, Ore.; and sisters, Olga Fink and Clara Schmollinger, both of Lodi, and Alvina Fehling, of Vacaville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Dietz; and sister, Frieda Folsom.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Road, in Lodi. Per her request, no services will be held and committal will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
