Man shot south of Lodi
A 30-year-old man was shot in the chest early Sunday morning as he was walking along the North Highway 99 Frontage Road.
According to a report by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office, the man was walking south on the frontage road, just north of Armstrong Road, at around 7:21 a.m. when he heard a gun shot and felt pain in his right chest area.
The victim told deputies the bullet came from a car but he could not describe the vehicle. The sheriff's report described the victim as "uncooperative" in telling deputies about the shooting.
After he was shot, the man made it to a friend's house in the 12300 block of the frontage road where he received some first aid. About an hour later, the man said his arm went numb and he felt cold prompting his friends to call 911. The man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was treated for his wound.
Deputies interviewed several witnesses although they all said they did not hear or see anything.
