A 27-year-old Lodi man was stabbed in the back at around 11 p.m. Thursday after he got caught up in a brawl near his home.

Lodi Police Sgt. Mike Oden said that Anthony Wilson stepped outside of his home in the 300 block of Eden Street to check on a commotion near his home and found a large group of Hispanic males fighting with each other.

When Wilson turned his back on the crowd, he was stabbed once on the leftside of his torso. He was treated at Lodi Memorial Hospital and released, according to hospital staff.

The men were still fighting when officers arrived at the scene, Oden said. Some were on foot while others were on bikes. Officers, however, did not find any weapons.

As of Friday morning, Oden said police had no suspects.

" cogito: You have a good point! The rumor mill told me that they are planning for a big winter party. I wonder if they will shut down all patrols so they can get some punch and cookies? The crooks have no fear. Andy still has the bullet, and Barney is sleeping. "

" Edumacation, of course other things are going on at the Lodi PD, give them a break. They talk about pay and benefit increases, and how to retire even earlier at your, the taxpayers, expense. "

" If the LPD keep watching and doing nothing, of course Lodi is a sanctuary city. Why intervene with violent criminal acts if its going to be dangerous? Why arrest criminals if it only increases the statistics for violent offenses. Why do we bother having a police department? Is nothing going on over there, except promotions and meetings about discussing the gang problems? "
