On Veteran's Day observances:
"Veterans who have passed away have paid the ultimate sacrifice to our nation! Those of us who are retired or disabled are growing fewer and fewer with each year. Those who actively serve our country now, please take a moment to thank them for their service! Our military forces are why we continue to have the freedoms we all too often take for granted! God Bless America!" — T & C
"T&C at times our opinions may differ, however on this day and [Tuesday] we can come together in a common bond. While [Tuesday] is Veterans Day, [Monday] marks the 233rd birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps, which I am proud to say I served in. The United States of America is indeed the land of the brave and the home of the free. Happy Birthday jarheads, Semper Fi." — dogs4you
"As the wife of a disabled vet I want to say thank you in advance for everyone who shows my husband they care about the sacrifice he made. Take time to seek out vets in your neighborhood and tell them thanks. This simple act will mean the world to them and just those words would have them do it all over again, despite the costs." — LodiGirl
"A giant "thank you" to all of our former and current military men and women for their service. All of my family members older than my brother and I served. It was not in style to serve post Vietnam, and we went to college. I am amazed to see so many young Americans sign up right out of high school. Of course, the world of terrorism is much different now than the 70's." — Whoa Nellie!
On the decreasing price of gas:
"This is good news for sellers and buyers of big gas hog SUVs. Buyers with damaged short-term memories will now rush in and get great deals on the these Jurassic Mammoths and will enjoy sub-$3 gas — for a while. Manufacturers have a window of opportunity to clear these monsters from inventory. Me? I won't get fooled again. No vehicle that gets less than 30 mpg overall will ever be in my driveway because gas prices will come back higher than ever at some point in the future." — jramagic
"Maybe if gas hit $7-8 a gallon then America would get serious about finding alternative fuel and get off the gas addiction." — Rhodie
