Lodi's Davis to play in college all-star game
Azusa Pacific senior wide receiver and Lodi native Jon Davis has been invited to play in the 8th Annual East Coast Bowl, which will be played on Saturday, Nov. 29 in Petersburg, Va.
The game showcases some of the top Division I-FCS, II, III and NAIA players across the nation.
Davis, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver for the Cougars, led the team in catches (49), receiving yards (605) and touchdowns (5).

St. Francis 5, St. Mary's 4
The Rams came up just short in their championship bid, losing to St. Francis in Tuesday's Sac-Joaquin Section final.
All of St. Mary's victories came in singles play, with Christiana Ferrari, Megan Spencer, Alexis Ferreira and Kim Williams each winning their match.

Terrapin Meet
Led by Natalie Bowman and Jordan Litz, Lodi had 13 swimmers reach the finals at the Terrapin Meet last weekend in Concord.
Bowman (11-12 girls) broke a 40-year-old club record when she posted a time of 18 minutes, 50.71 seconds in the 1560 freestyle, eclipsing Cindy Enze Griffin's mark of 18:53 that had stood since 1968. Bowman also set a new record in the 500 free with a time of 5:26.60, breaking Lori Scheideman's old mark of 5:28.52 set in 2007.
Litz placed first in the 400 medley (4:4.94), 200 breaststroke (2:07.89) and 100 breaststroke (59.12).
Daniel Bowman was eighth in the 200 free (1:48.08) and also reached the finals in the 500 free (4:45.89) and 200 butterfly (1:59.83).
Also reaching the finals were Davis Ring in the 100 free (50.62) and 50 free (23.70); Scheideman in the 1650 free (7th, 17:53.01); Allison Naasz in the 200 free (2:05.18); Cayla Nishizaki in the 200 back (2:18.97); Devin Nishizaki in the 100 back (1:01.36); Grace Reichard in the 400 IM (4:56.60); Glory Reichard in the 200 free (2:06.83); Mary Griffith in the 200 fly (2:11.56); and Danielle Combs in the 200 IM (2:17.58).

Norcal Hoops Camp
The NorCal Hoops All-Star Basketball Camp will be held Friday, Nov. 28 at the Lodi Grape Pavilion from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The camp features fundamental and advanced skill training for boys and girls ages 9-14.

Aqha World Championship
Acampo's Brenda Joy Speer was a top-10 finalist in Yearling Mares with Design By Royal Te, a 2007 black American quarter horse, at the America Quarter Horse Association world championship show last week in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The show is the largest, richest single-breed event in the world, with more than $2.7 million awarded to 3,494 entrants from 48 states, eight Canadian provinces, Brazil, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. To qualify for the event, horses must have earned a predetermined number of points in AQHA-approved shows.

California Cougars
The Cougars wrapped up NorCal play with a 3-0 win over the County Line Heat this past weekend in Sacramento.
Michaela Scott led the Cougars with two goals and Desiree Herrera had one. Megan Mossman and Lauren Paul had one assist each.
Goalkeeper Stephanie Isenberg posted the shutout behind the strong defensive play of Rebecca Scott, Victoria Stotts, Amanda Cervantes and Alexandra Ruhl. The Cougars finished first in the NorCal Fall League.
In the opening round of the round-robin playoffs, the Cougars fell to the Elk Grove Pride 4-2. The Cougars led 1-0 at the half on an Alyssa Magana goal. Cristina Caporali had the assist.
The Pride rallied for four straight goals in a 15-minute span in the second half. Megan Mossman scored the Cougars' second goal on an Amie Gillett assist late in the game.
