Margaret Batson
Registered nurse and instructor
Margaret Elaine Batson, 56, of Lodi, died on Nov. 17. She was born Margaret Elaine Peterson in Kansas City, Kansas.
Mrs. Batson attended the University of Kansas where she received her degree in nursing in 1979. She worked as a registered pediatric nurse for 20 years and then went on to receive her Masters in Nursing Education in 1998. Mrs. Batson spent the last 10 years as an instructor at San Joaquin Delta College.
Mrs. Batson was a member of numerous nursing associations and was an active member of Heartland Community church where she served as the director of the children's ministry.
Mrs. Batson is survived by her husband of 34 years, Larry Batson, of Lodi; daughter, Crystal Jones, of Elk Grove; son, Brett Batson, of Fresno; mother, Florence Peterson, of Iowa; and brothers, John Peterson, of Ill. and David Peterson, of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Peterson.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 and East Harney Lane, Lodi. Interment will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park, with fellowship following at Heartland Community Church, 651 N. Cherokee Lane, Lodi. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Road.
