Athlete of the Week
Lauren Petersen fast on her feet
Accomplishment: Galt High senior runner Lauren Petersen not only took first place in the Sac-Joaquin Subsection Division I cross country championships last weekend, she was more than half a minute faster than the runner-up.

Her time of 18:55 in the three-mile race not only secured her individual title, but also helped Galt to a first-place finish in the team standings as well.
The performance was good enough for the Warriors to qualify for the Sac-Joaquin Section meet Saturday at Folsom High School. If Petersen and the Warriors can finish as one of the top three teams in sections, they will advance to the state meet as a team for the first time in the history of the program.
