Are we on the verge of an unprecedented shift of power?
There's no doubt about it ... Americans are ready for change.
With the seemingly endless attempt at nation-building in Iraq, home foreclosures at record levels, an economy seemingly teetering on the verge of collapse, many pensions and 401,000's now worth fractions of there previous worth, there is little wonder why.
All of this makes many political prognosticators predict significant gains this year for the Democratic Party in Congress. The Democratic Party this year has about as good a chance that has come to pass this century to acquire a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, as well as a veto-proof majority in the House. If this is accompanied by a Barack Obama victory in the presidential election this Tuesday, Nov. 4th, a shift of power of virtually unprecedented proportions, at least in our lifetime, may become a reality.
Americans have, for good reason, become sick and tired of the status quo. "Change," any change, seemingly the bigger change the better, appears to be the rallying cry of many, many patriotic Americans who are sick and tired of the G.W. Bush administration.
At this time in American history it is extremely difficult to argue with that train of thought.
Republican Party nominee John McCain, energetic and passionate though he may be at the ripe old age of 72, is unfortunately saddled with the baggage of having to defend, or at least say how his positions differ from those of the last 8 years. While his many years of service and dedication to this country are very much admirable if not heroic, others say that his many years in government make him part of the dysfunction in Washington.
Democratic Party nominee, the charismatic and well spoken Barack Obama, while playing to the political center, has without a doubt, one of THE most liberal voting records in the U.S. Senate. His relatively young 47 years of age as well as his having served only four short years in the U.S. Senate make some think he is "not ready" to take up residence in the White House. Others say new, fresh ideas are exactly what this country needs. An Obama presidency would definitely constitute "change."
There is nothing inherently wrong with "change." It is, along with death and taxes, one of life's certainties. Most people, however, crave structure and being creatures of habit, tend to be averse to "change." The evil or adversity we know or are used to, tends to be preferable to the evil we don't know.
However, making a radical "change" just for the sake of change can have unintended consequences. With San Francisco liberal Nancy Pelosi the Speaker of the House, and the uber-liberal Harry Reid the Senate majority leader, the direction of the country could very well do a "180" if Obama is indeed elected. The U.S. government undergoing a radical, if not unprecedented and monumental, shift is not only possible, but I dare say, likely.
These three Democratic leaders on a regular basis argue for higher taxes on the so-called "rich."
While I personally don't miss many meals, I have never been called "rich." In this time of economic tribulation however, it is my humble opinion that higher taxes on anybody but maybe oil corporations is the wrong manner of stopping the ship from listing. Hate the rich as you may, the reality is that they are the ones who pay the salaries of the average worker. You just don't see many of the poor or even middle class creating jobs.
While "change" may be the rallying cry for many, my fear is that "change" may be all that's left in my bank account if things don't work out the way the winning candidate promises. This is regardless of who wins what appears to the unenviable yet hallowed job of being the next President of these United States of America.
The prosperity and future of America is simply worth much more than just chump "change."

America has entered a phase never before seen in our history. We have an ultra-liberal president and congress, the government is buying "stakes" in banks, financial institutions, and insurance companies - and our President Elect has openly stated he intends to "re-distribute wealth" from the wealthy to the not-so-wealthy.
How much longer can we as a people continue to shoulder the current tax burden (much less a higher tax burden)? How can we pour money into the sector where the majority of "non-doers" in our society exist, by taking money from the "doers" and giving it to them?
I am afraid for this country. "

To the demo's, Constitutional rights extend to terrorists who wish to harm us! It is NO secret that Obama will dissect major section provisions of the Patriot Act!
This very act places America at a heightened risk level of attack, which is the very thing terrorists want from the Demo's NEW MESSIAH"! A heightened risk of attack is not what America should look forward too or endure! "

CHICAGO - After eight years of Republican rule, Barack Obama turned Wednesday to the task of building a Democratic administration to lead the country out of war and into the financial recovery that he promised. James Steinberg, a former Clinton adviser, remained a top contender for National Security Adviser. Obama issued a written statement announcing that his transition team would be headed by John Podesta, who served as chief of staff under Clinton.

Let me see if I have this down right! You demo's whined and whined and whined because Republicans were giving Billions to Corporations! Now Obama is about to hand out Billions to middle class home owners who could not maintain their mortgages and properly invest their 401 k plans! I see absolutely no difference except the money will soon no longer grease the corporations pockets but the middle class home owners who screwed up the economy for everyone thru foreclosures and bad investments! I guess when the money is going into your pockets; it is NOT a bad thing! Sounds very double standard to me! "Give me money and I will not whine type of mentality. I am glad I did not vote your way! Financial irresponsibility does not deserve those huge stimulus checks! If I make a bad investment, I learn to be financially more responsible! "

The "Obama-Biden campaign deliberately has solicited and received hundreds of thousands of credit card transactions of $250 or less, whose details the campaign won't make available for outside review even though in the aggregate they amount to hundreds of millions of dollars via a fraud-friendly credit card system (a) which accepts transfers from untraceable pre-paid credit cards, and (b) whose basic anti-fraud measures have been deliberately crippled. The Obama-Biden campaign might just as well have set up dumpsters all over the world into which illegal donors could dump shopping bags full of cash donations made in unmarked small bills.

So extravagant are the patterns of thinking, emoting, behaving and relating that characterize the liberal mind that its relentless protests and demands become understandable only as disorders of the psyche. The Liberal Mind reveals the madness of the modern liberal for what it is: a massive transference neurosis acted out in the worlds political arenas, with devastating effects on the institutions of liberty.
