Student completes first solo flight
Paul Kemalyan, of Lodi, has successfully completed his first solo flight in the aviation program at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, N.H.
During his solo flight, Kemalyan flied an aircraft without the assistance or presence of a certified flight instructor. The first solo flight is considered the first professional milestone in the aviation industry.
Kemalyan is a freshman aviation flight operations student, studying such aspects of flight as aerodynamics, micro-meteorology, applied flight dynamics and integrated flight operations. At graduation, he will have earned a commercial pilot certificate for both single and multi-engine airplanes.
As a workforce-ready professional, Kemalyan will enter the industry as an airline pilot, military aviator or corporate pilot, or will continue his education in other areas of the aviation profession.
