Allan Brenner
Building contractor
Allan Eugene Brenner, 70, of Davis and formerly of Lodi, died on Oct. 21 after a long illness. He was born on May 20, 1938, in Oroville.
Mr. Brenner spend most of his childhood in Oroville and after graduating from Healdsburg High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Allan served as one of the top Communications Technicians for four years, served most of his career on the U.S.S. Enterprise aircraft carrier, and was stationed in Istanbul, Turkey.
After being honorably discharged, Allan met his wife Sheran and shortly thereafter attended Apprenticeship School to become a General Building Contractor. He attending numerous workshops and building courses to further his education throughout the course of his career. Allan also spent eight years as a Maintenance Supervisor for American Savings. He retired shortly after being diagnosed with Parkison's disease.
Allan made Lodi his home on a number of occasions and eventually he settled in Davis. He spent a lifetime reading the Bible and completed the Berean Bible home study course during his retirement. He was also an artist who enjoyed painting natural scenery with oils, charcoals, and pastels. Allan also enjoyed making people laugh by wiggling his ears, going to the ocean, painting, woodworking, driftwood, wonders of nature, playing and watching basketball, reading and teaching the Bible, country music, meatloaf and baked potatoes.
Allan is survived by his wife, Sheran Brenner; son, Theodore Brenner; daughter, Tina Hammell; sister, Peggy Noble; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Century Assembly of God Church, 550 West Century Blvd., Lodi. Committal will be private and there will be no visitation.
