Lodi Police Department
In the 48 hours after 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department handled 291 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:
Tuesday
School Ditcher
11:09 a.m.: A 16-year-old School Street resident cut school and his mother wanted police to find him. He returned home on his own that evening.
Grand theft of jewels
12:58 p.m.: Jewelry valued at more than $400 was stolen in the 500 block of East Elm Street.
Stolen Vehicle
4:40 p.m.: A vehicle, which was last seen Thursday, had apparently been stolen at Century Plaza Apartments, 321 W. Century Blvd.
Lake Archery
5:30 p.m.: Three boys and about six girls had bows and arrows at Lodi Lake, 1301 W. Turner Road, and a girl was heard saying she was scared. They were nowhere to be seen when police arrived.
Burglary Issues
6:10 p.m.: A 29-year-old woman broke into a residence in the 2200 block of Scarborough Drive 45 minutes earlier. She left and went to Big Kmart, 520 S. Cherokee Lane, which has a restraining order against her for a previous shoplifting incident. She was arrested.
House Vandalism
6:47 p.m.: Someone broken into a Liebig Street home and broke many items, but apparently didn't steal anything.
Drugs
7:40 p.m.: Two males and a female were doing drugs in an older pick-up at Ross, 340 W. Kettleman Lane. A woman was arrested on drug charges and warrants.
Beer Theft
10:01 p.m.: A man stole a 30-pack of beer and headed north on foot from USA Gas, 35 N. Cherokee Lane.
Wednesday
Drug Arrest
1:27 a.m.: Someone had drugs at Lodi Avenue and Sacramento Street.
DUI with no headlights
2:08 a.m.: A car had no headlights at Vine Street and Lower Sacramento Road when an officer stopped it. A 22-year-old man was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence, drug violations and having no driver license.
Truck Theft
6:35 a.m.: A dark blue 1983 Toyota pick-up truck was stolen at Summer Place Apartments, 1202 S. Hutchins St.
Garage Burglary
8:02 a.m.: Someone stole the garage door opener to a home in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive, then burglarized the garage.
Stolen Cans
8:11 a.m.: Several large sacks of aluminum cans were stolen in the 700 block of Rimby Avenue.
Suspiciously shirted man
1:07 p.m.: A man, who was wearing his T-shirt on his head instead of his torso, was carrying a metal rod while walking back and forth in front of the Post Office, 120 S. School St.
Kissing in public
1:52 p.m.: A boy and a girl were kissing in front of a Wellswood Avenue residence, so a woman's children couldn't go outside to play.
Election sign hoopla
2:40 p.m.: A man in a yellow shirt was pulling signs off front lawns at Evergreen and Mosswood drives. The signs related to Prop. 8 regarding gay marriage.
No longer private photos
3:49 p.m.: A Lodi woman's boyfriend put nude videos and photos of her on the Internet.
Lawn mower heist
5 p.m.: Someone loaded lawn mowers into an older green Ford pick-up truck, then left without paying for them at Lowe's, 1389 S. Lower Sacramento Road.
Bad Driver
6:57 p.m.: A curly haired man was drinking beer and putting his leg out the window while recklessly driving a white Lincoln Continental at Save Mart Foods, 1340 S. Hutchins St.
Drunken Drivers
7:46 p.m.: A drunken driver was arrested at Ham Lane and Lockeford Street.
8:37 p.m.: Another drunken driver was arrested at Cherokee Lane and Hale Road, this time related to a stop by San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputies.
Fight, leading to arrest
8:39 p.m.: Four people were involved in a fight at Pizza Works, 100 W. Turner Road. A 29-year-old man was arrested for assault and public intoxication.
Domestic Violence
9:44 p.m.: A man was refusing to let a woman out of a vehicle at S-Mart Foods, 610 W. Kettleman Lane. He was arrested for domestic battery and public intoxication.
Stolen Keys
11:19 p.m.: Keys were stolen from a residence at Sienna Court Apartments, 1036 S. Garfield St.
Thursday
Suspicious Bicyclist
6:07 a.m.: A suspicious man on a bicycle was carrying a "bag full of stuff" near Corinth Avenue and Elm Street.
Hazardous Standers
9:02 a.m.: People were standing in the roadway with car wash signs at Kettleman Lane and Stockton Street.
