County General Plan update to be discussed
San Joaquin County officials will discuss the process and issues in updating its General Plan for rural communities at a meeting next week in Lodi.
The county's Community Development Department will conduct the meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Jackson Hall on the Lodi Grape Festival grounds, 413 E. Lockeford St.
Future meetings will be held Oct. 22 in Morada, Oct. 27 in Lockeford, Oct. 29 in Woodbridge and Oct. 30 in Thornton. Other community meetings will be held elsewhere in the county as well.

Church sign knocked down again
Someone knocked down the sign listing the name, address and service times at Galt's First Baptist Church, 653 A St., according to active church member Virginia Parker. A police report has been filed, Parker said.
Vandals knocked down the same sign and a cross in front of the church on Sept. 19.
