Lodi's better side
After reading Quick Comments, Sons of Anarchy, in Tuesday's, Sept. 30, Lodi News-Sentinel, I was compelled to respond.
I believe one way to show Lodi's better side is to send ambassadors to other cities to show people what Lodi is all about. The Lodi Extreme 16U Girls Fastpitch Softball Team did exactly that in Pittsfield, Mass. last August.
The Berkshire Eagle, Sunday, August 3, ran an article entitled "No One's Stuck," quoting Coach Dave Pfennig, Angie Shepard, Acacia and Alyx Alvarez. The Eagle said the Credence song "Stuck in Lodi" gives Lodi an identity no other team has. When some Lodians were asked about the song, they broke out singing. Between innings many times, "Stuck in Lodi" was played on the sound system and not only Lodians but others in the crowd joined in singing and dancing. Not only did Lodi's young ladies win the Babe Ruth 16U World Series Championship, they won the hearts of many in Pittsfield and fans from all over the nation.
Have no fear, Lodi, with representatives like these young ladies, Lodi's image is safe.
