Hinchman wins tourney
Marissa Hinchman, a freshman at Lodi High, rallied from two shots down on the back nine and held off Alexandra Sborov on the final three holes to win a California Junior Tour event on Sunday at San Geronimo Golf Club in Marin County.
Hinchman, playing in the 11-14 flight, finished the two-day tourney with a 154, one shot better than Sborov. The two were tied after 14 holes in Sunday's final round, but Hinchman made a birdie on the par-3 15th and Sborov bogeyed the hole to give Hinchman a two-shot lead. Sborov got back to within a shot when Hinchman bogeyed the par-4 16th, but Hinchman made par on the final two holes to secure the victory.
