'Change' will be all that's left
Yes, let the hard working class and struggling Americans, along with their tax dollars, pay for the rich, wealthy and incompetent elitists on Wall Street and then we can say government bailed them out, while the working class struggles and declines deeper into debt.
Our dollar will depreciate even more in value while the Federal Reserve keeps on printing dollars with no oversight or restrictions. We will see America's economy continue to collapse as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and while the middle class becomes a historic memory.
They tell you Wall Street's collapse will cause problems for the working class (Main Street) to justify this so called "bailout," but what they don't tell you is this is socialism and the working class will become even more in debt as government continues to grow in power and control more real estate, businesses, banks and other institutions.
Whatever happened to accountability? This government was founded on hard work and accountability — you study and work hard, you then reap the rewards. If one is lazy, incompetent or chooses not to study or work hard, then one does not do so well and lives with the consequences. Hard working taxpayers pay government to protect America, not take their tax dollars and give to the rich, lazy or incompetent. It says, "promote the general welfare," not "promote the Welfare Department for the lazy" so politicians can get votes. Nor does it say to "promote the rich" and take from the hard working American citizen.
As the U.S. Constitution and economy falter and the government refuses to legitimately protect our borders, it is clear that Americans lack representation from either political party. Politicians today lack moral values, a love of country, God and fellow man. They are about self. The unconstitutional actions of America's corrupt, negligent and traitorous politicians continue to destroy the very roots, principles and values which America was founded upon, while they fill their pockets and egos with self-satisfaction.
I hear so many continually asking for "change" from both the Democratic and Republican parties. Well, as America continues this downward socialist spiral, you will get what you're asking for, because pocket "change" will be just about all you have left.

As for "Religulous", it is in my Netflix queue already.
Did you ever read the book or see the movie "Lord Of The Rings"? Do you remember Gollum? He was obsessed with the ring... his "precious". It controlled him. He was drunk with the power of the ring.
Every time McCain talks about "The Surge" I see Gollum hunched over saying "my precious, my precious."
Go here..

Can you just see McCain, hunched over, saying over and over "the surge, the surge." See the resemblance??? hee hee... I love internet. "

He made the crowd believe he was accusing
Obama of being a terrorist.
Someone in the audience yelled "Kill Him." McCain grinned. It broke my heart.
What the heck is going on in our country? "

"In October 2002 George Bush held a gun to the worlds head.
Saddam Hussein posed a grave threat, the president insisted, justifying the invasion of Iraq.
Six years on and Bushs fingers again on the trigger, this time over the $700billion bail-out of US banks.
Just as before, he said it was an open-and-shut case approve the deal or face financial Armageddon.
Yet the war in Iraq proved Bush wrong. Could his latest apocalyptic judgment be just as wrong?
The war in Iraq did not prove Bush wrong. The war in Iraq proved Bush LIED!
And yes, he is lying again. This bailout is a REPEAT of the same scam his father pulled back in the 1980s. With the same result; taking money away from Americans and putting it into the pockets of the ultra-rich.

If you watched the film, you'd see that what is covered is the eradication of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution in general, and how the "average" person is totally clueless on this subject.
To emphasize my point, read Bry's comment on Oct 2, 2008 2:38 AM. I also found it interesting that McCain was shown in the film along with Biden and Ron Paul. "

DanielH, Aaron Russo passed away last August. In addition to "Trading Places" with Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy; Aaron also produced "The Rose" with Bette Midler and, more recently, "Freedom to Fascisim" which can be viewed online. He thought it was so important, he made it available free of charge. Link below.

"A bonus paid to an agent in addition to legal interest renders the loan usurious, when it enures (becomes habitual) to the benefit of the principal under the agent's contract; McBroom v. Investment Co., 153 U.S. 318, 14 Sup. ct. 852, 38 L. Ed. 729.
Think golden parachute.
Could it be that all those home loans and credit cards are, ultimately fraudulent contracts due to predatory lending practices? All those CEOs with their "golden parachutes" were only awarded them due to their employees conning a bunch of rubes (the public).
Hmmmmm....... "

During this entire campaign any attempt to learn the truth about those who desire to lead us has been met with fierce opposition - and mostly from the media. How dare anyone question their records, integrity and motives!! Dodd, Frank and Pelosi (to name a very few) should have had their walking papers long ago; and even now as they openly and unabashedly lie through their collective teeth in order to remain in power, there is little demand for "accountability."
Send them all packing!! Break out the brooms via the ballot and sweep them into obscurity. Write in Mickey and Minnie Mouse for president/vice president (both were "born" here and are certainly over 35) - they couldn't do any worse. "

And what I find most interesting is that I haven't really heard anyone describe how this bill will actually change the tax code - yet it's right there on the bill title itself. "

So maybe the REAL problem is usurious interest rates which fall right back on Bernanke and Paulson - the two engineers of this so-called bailout. The news was also trying to frighten the public by saying they might not receive a paycheck Friday if the company they work for couldn't get a loan.
To paraphrase my own name: WTF!!!??!!
If a business has to take a loan out to make payroll, maybe the business owner better find something else to do. "

Since the bailout didn't pass the House, it's winding its way through the Senate today. Same thing will apply in my book: any senator who votes yes gets booted off the island when they come up for re-election. McNerney's already gone as far as I'm concerned.
But I think your letter was written when the MSM talking heads were trying to tell us how Wall Street would suffer. NOW the MSM's spin is that it has nothing to do with Wall Street and everything to do with the "credit crunch" and inter-bank interest tripling because they don't trust each other.
I say: Good!
Wasn't it "easy credit" and unqualified first time home buyers that got us into this mess in the first place?
Yes and no.
