Ribbon cutting tonight at auto center
There will be a "Mega" ribbon cutting ceremony tonight starting at 5:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Kettleman Auto Center, located at 335 E. Kettleman Lane.
The ceremony will include two grand re-opening celebrations: Lodi Transmissions and Midas Auto Service Center and the grand opening and ribbon cutting for Lodi Quick Smog. For those looking to network, or those just wanting to meet some very nice people and enjoy great food, the event will be a must-attend.
Program to recycle polystyrene foam
Dart Container's in Lodi is hosting a grand opening celebration for its new polystyrene foam recycling drop-off center on Oct. 3 at 11 a.m.
This will be a visual "green" event with a strong public education message. The public is invited to recycle their polystyrene foam (commonly known as Styrofoam, a registered trademark of The Dow Chemical Company), including food service containers (foam cups, foam plates, and foam clamshells) and shape or molded foam packaging (often used to package electronics).
All foam must bear the "6" symbol with chasing arrows.
A Dart "Densifier" will be on display and demonstrations will be performed (This machine compacts 80 cubic feet of foam an hour into a 15.5" by 15" cylinder that weighs about 40 pounds or, to put it in perspective, a pile of foam the size of a car is compacted into a 5 gallon bucket).
Food and drinks will be served, and the public is welcome to drop off foam from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place at 1400 E. Victor Road in Lodi.

Attendees will receive workbooks and trade resource guides with quick reference charts and step-by-step instruction for documentation, quotation and obtaining trade information resources.
