Ida W. Rode, 95, of Lodi and formerly of Sacramento, died Sept. 11. She was born Ida Wahl on June 24, 1913, in Woodrow, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Mrs. Rode was the youngest of 11 children. At a young age, she and her family moved from Canada to Tracy and later settled in Lockeford where she grew up and was educated. Mrs. Rode met and married Reinhold Rode and eventually moved her family to Sacramento where they lived for many years. She made her final moved to Lodi, where she spent her remaining years.

Mrs. Rode was a member of the choir at Capital Christian Center, formerly Bethel Temple, in Sacramento for 45 years. She sang in the first Christmas Tree presentation offered at the church as well as many other performances throughout the years. She was also a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Lodi. Mrs. Rode enjoyed caring for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing, crocheting, embroidering and visiting with friends.

She is survived by her daughter, LaVerne Isbill, of Lodi; son, Leonard Rode, of Fair Oaks; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-granchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Reinhold O. Rode; and 10 brothers and sisters.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 1600 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento. Interment will immediately follow the funeral. Visitation will be held from noon until the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Missionary Fellowship at Temple Baptist Church, 801 South Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi, CA 95242.

Sacramento Memorial Lawn is assisting the family with arrangements.
