Illegal immigrants should be deported
This is in response to the long, very sympathetic article in the paper, Aug. 25, regarding the shattered lives of the forced returns of illegal Mexicans to Mexico. It leaves me feeling sad for California.
The Border Patrol is doing the job they were hired to do — thank God. The official attitude has been so lax for so long that the California economy is going broke supporting the illegal population. The overload at San Joaquin General Hospital and the extra costs of education from preschool through college are causing a shortage of school space and money; examples consist of unaffordable school bus services and lack of extra space for gifted children along with providing many other services.
The poor working-class taxpayer would be happy to have one of those construction worker, farm or nanny jobs when they find themselves unemployed due to their company relocating to Mexico or China or wherever, and they can't find work. We are in a slow economy with many unemployed U.S. Citizens.
Those who are illegal have no right to services or protection from deportation. They knew what they were doing was wrong when they came. They should prepare themselves to be returned.
In every case, California is better off without the ex-prisoners and gang members and the other illegal immigrants (returned 10,000 since 2006), even 16-year-old Paola Riveras who went to her illegal mother in Los Angeles. Her mother could go back to her and then both could get legal visas if they want to return.
I say bravo to the Border Patrol, keep up the good work.

First, you comments sound like a ranting 20 year old member of the International Socialist Organization, or you are the lone member of ANSWER.org I have seen roaming around.
My comment was on Mexican illegals. Illegal means breaking the law, which no republican believes in but you Socialists do. "

We have so many illegals here because they are part of a plan by Nationalist Mexican Loyalists (Mecha) to try and politically "re-take" the American Southwest.
Their constitution (from their own website) states:
"Chicano and Chicana students of Aztlan must take upon themselves the responsibilities..to continue the struggle for the self-determination of the Chicano people for the purpose of liberating Aztln."
GLOSSARY
Self-Determination: deciding what is best for ones-self outside the bounds of society.
Chicano People: Mexicans
Atzlan: Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California (the American Southwest)
Liberating Atzlan: Taking back the American Southwest for Mexico.
HOW DO YOU ACHIEVE ALL THIS? You first have to have..a..majority..of..people..living..in..those..areas. "

It is so much fun to watch the fear and confusion that has infected the Democrats. Obama's followers actually believed that the people would be fooled by his sleight of hand and his incredible ability to talk out of both sides of his mouth at the same time. He's weak - his record proves that and an electorate that really wants to solve the problems facing us will not fall for it on November 4th. "
lodisafeway wrote on Sep 6, 2008 9:26 PM:
But here we are in 2008 - blame who you want, I really don't care. The fact is that no one is doing their job. The problem is, however that the left (liberals/Democrats - you know who you are), somehow believe that these 12 million or so here breaking our laws, killing our people, filling our prisons and hospital emergency rooms, etc., etc., should be permitted to stay with impunity. This is not how our country should be managed.
Pelosi and Reid ran on a "reform" platform that has revealed that all they wanted was the title of Speaker and Majority Leader - they've offered no solutions to anything. That is why they're approval ratings are lower than Bush's. Bush is leaving in January. But we'll still be stuck with the Congress. So, yeah - right now it IS their fault. That's how it works. "

Very good question lodisafeway, and by the way you have said alot of good comments on this topic! There are those who DON'T CARE what illegals do, have done or are doing! They do not care about our Laws about immigration. What the liberals feel is..."They are here and if they refuse to apply for citizenship and wait in line like the rest of the world must do..."Hey, go for it! Our government is picking up the tab, not them!" If we are going to allow 12 million illegals to just squat on our country, we might as well just abolish the immigration system period! It is 2 years in prison for illegally entering Mexico! Why aren't all the illegal lovers in an uproar over that? Illegals get out of the responsibility of learning English, learning our laws and assimilating into our culture! "

With the signing of one little subpoena, the CEOs, CFOs and virtually anyone they want could be sworn in and compelled to answer for this outrageous behavior. But where are Harry and Nancy and the rest of the folks on the Hill?
Oh, yeah - they went on vacation to avoid working on an energy bill. But they'll be back on Monday - ready, able and willing to "fight for the American people" as they promised they would successfully do if they had only been given the opportunity to do so. But like your arguments here, Voter, they're full of nothing but hot air. "

The fact is we have a bunch of illegal people running around actively destroying our economy by their very presence. Rather than send them back to their homes, there are those who believe we should exhibit "compassion" despite these same liberals' insistence that our economy is in the tank and millions of people are jobless and hopeless.
Send the illegals back home and put more Americans back to work. I guess that makes too much sense, huh? No, let them continue to suck us dry and blame President Bush for the unemployment numbers. Yeah, that's the ticket!! More liberal mumbo jumbo, thats all it is. "

Those who demand "compassion" to those who demonstrated no respect for our laws and no compassion toward our citizens who suffer by their very presence here might want to determine just how much money would be saved if those who are here illegally were returned to their countries of origin.
After all, from what I can tell 99.99% of the citizens of the United States are suffering terribly economically as a result of the policies of the Bush administration. Let's get a little relief by way of a caravan of buses returning illegal Mexicans back across the border. That would then free up quite a few jobs for those unemployed citizens to begin making their own way again. Oh, I forgot - they "won't" do those types of jobs, will they? How uncompassionate of me! "

Laws are made for a reason. Unless they are deemed to be unconstitutional or are otherwise reversed or nullified, they should be enforced. Making excuses for the lawlessness of others or simply turning our heads in the opposite direction while our borders are being breached solves nothing; it only makes things worse.
Secure the borders; return those who are here illegally to the countries from whence they came; restructure our immigration policies (if that is what is right and necessary) and let's just move on.
I would suggest that those who resort to drinking in an effort to put up with the nonsense that is going on might have no other recourse. Washington obviously isn't listening. "

So you support the presence of illegals as long as they work. Is that your position? That's what you stated. This is what I get from your mixed messages: They can stay if they work hard, but they should all be sterilized--keep them enslaved and under control. "
