Lodi Police Department
In the 24 hours after 11 a.m. Thursday, the Lodi Police Department handled 151 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:
Thursday
Dad's just dozing
11:38 a.m.: An infant was left unattended in a garage in the 1400 block of Vista Drive. Police arrived and learned that the father was dozing, in the same garage.
Drugs, and a recovered stolen truck
12:28 p.m.: A stolen red truck was abandoned in the 500 block of East Vine Street. In an unrelated matter at the same place, police arrested a man for drug violations.
Stolen jewelry report, 10 months late
1:58 p.m.: When a woman's jewelry was stolen in November at Golden Era Hotel, 18 S. Main St., she didn't report it. But now that she saw someone wearing the goods, she called police.
Shoplifter
2:49 p.m.: Security detained a 48-year-old woman for shoplifting at Mervyn's, 530 W. Kettleman Lane.
Missing Man
5:17 p.m.: A 22-year-old man left his South Orange Avenue home by bicycle the previous day. He was going to work but never arrived, so his father reported him missing.
Drunk and falling
6:11 p.m.: A drunken woman fell out of a pick-up truck's passenger seat in the 900 block of South Fairmont Avenue, and her husband was having trouble moving her.
Drunken Driver
7 p.m.: A 28-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving at Church and Elm streets, yards away from the city jail.
Hit-and-run
7:22 p.m.: After hitting a parked car at Garfield and Vine streets, a suspect's vehicle stopped at Tokay and Sacramento streets. Two men were ultimately arrested.
Domestic Fight
7:59 p.m.: A male and a female, both about age 18, were involved in a domestic fight at Subway, 2434 W. Kettleman Lane.
Escaped Toddler
8:07 p.m.: A 3-year-old was wandering with no parents in sight at USA Gas, 35 N. Cherokee Lane. Police learned that a teenage sibling was watching the child and had locked all the doors, but the toddler managed to unlock a door and escape.
Grand theft of jewelry
10:05 p.m.: Jewelry valued at more than $400 was stolen in the 400 block of Cherry Street.
Domestic Violence
11:13 p.m.: A small child called police from Central Avenue, saying that Mom and Dad were fighting and that Mom was bleeding. Police arrested a man who had turned 46 that day.
Burglary Interrupted
11:35 p.m.: Two men fled over a fence when a tow truck driver arrived to drop off a vehicle at Geweke Body and RV, 102 Hansen Drive. Two speakers were left in the lot and a CD case was dropped near the fence where the men, who wore dark clothing and light shoes, fled.
Friday
Drunken Driver
12:39 a.m.: A drunken driver was arrested at Mills Avenue and Pine Street.
Gas theft by a sloppy crook
7:40 a.m.: Someone siphoned gas from a car and left evidence behind at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 488 E. Kettleman Lane.
Stolen Wheels
7:59 a.m.: Wheels were taken off two vehicles at Joe's Auto Repair, 1919 S. Stockton St.
