Verdoorns celebrate 50 years

Peter and Joan Verdoorn, of Lodi, celebrated 50 years of marriage in August. The couple was married on Aug. 23, 1958, in Los Angeles.
The two moved to Lodi 30 years ago and have resided in the same home since then, which was built in 1908.
Their children are Cathy Campbell, of Lodi, Cara Whitehead, of Santa Clara, Utah, Dirk Verdoorn, of Elk Grove, and Jay Verdoorn, of Cromwell, Conn.; their grandchildren are Tyler, Tara, Rebecca, B.J., Peter, Troy, Grant, Andrew, Olivia, D.J., Ethan, Allison, Anna, Leah, Axel, Spencer and Natalie.
They celebrated with a party on Aug. 2 at their home with over 160 family members and friends in attendance.
