Lodi Christian School's Walk-aThon
About 100 children participated in Lodi Christian School's Walk-a-thon, which was held on Tuesday at Calvary Bible Church.
The walk-a-thon was held to give the parent-teacher network the opportunity to earn funds for the school and allow the children to be a part of it. The event included sack races, a javelin throw with straws, basketball, a hot dog lunch and a presentation by motivational speaker John Pritikin.
During the event, some children walked as many as 30 laps, and one kindergartener walked about 12 laps, which is equivalent to about three miles, said Principal Nadeen Zerbe.
"They surpassed my expectatations. I can't believe how far they walked," she said.
