Soroptimists help with Salvation Army's shopping spree
The Salvation Army held its annual back to school shopping spree at Mervyn’s in Lodi on July 19.
Soroptimist International of Lodi members joined the group of volunteers to help with this event. Each volunteer was matched up with a child and chaperoned the child while he/she shopped for new school clothes with funds provided by Mervyn’s and community donations that The Salvation Army uses to purchase gift cards. Children also received a backpack with school supplies donated by various churches and other organizations in the community.
