Legion plans international weekend
American Legion Post 22 is planning an international kind of weekend on Aug. 8 and 9 at the Legion Hall.
Already in the works was a Mexican Fiesta on Saturday when the chance came up suddenly to host a concert by a German brass band touring the United States. Here's how the schedule worked out:
Norbert Reiff and his sizeable brass band from Saarbrucken, Germany will commence playing at 6 p.m. on Aug. 8. Tickets are $5 at the door and food and drinks will be on sale as well.
Tickets have already been on sale for the Aug. 9 Mexican Fiesta, featuring a 10-piece mariachi band, a raffle, a bar and food catered by Habanero Hots. Cocktail hour will be held at 4 p.m. with dinner to follow at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the Legion office, open from noon to 4 p.m. on weekdays except Monday. Call 368-1420 for reservations. Proceeds from both events will benefit the Legion's building fund.
