Master of Woodbridge Lodge selected as mason of year
On July 1, Vince Lake, two-time master of Woodbridge Lodge, F & A.M. was selected as the mason of the year for 2008. Lake has been a member of the Masons since 1960. He will be recognized at a dinner to be held on July 23 at the Scottish Rite building, 33 W. Alpine St., Stockton. At the dinner, which will be hosted by the Scottish Rite, Lake and all the other masons of the year nominated by masonic lodges throughout the central valley and foothills, will be honored for service to the cause of freemasonry.
When making the announcement, Senior Warden Frank Mills stated that Lake had been selected for this honor because of his past years of service to the Woodbridge Lodge and his ability to serve at any office within the Lodge. Each year, only one mason of the year can be nominated and the honor is the second highest award that can be bestowed by an individual lodge to one of its members. Lake is a long-time Lodi resident and a retired captain of the Lodi Police Department. He is active in the Woodbridge Lodge, Lodi Lodge, Tokay Shrine and several foothill masonic lodges.
