Cartridge World sponsors Lodi High Band Boosters
Cartridge World of Lodi has announced its sponsorship of the Lodi High School Band Boosters.
"We are so excited to do our part in this great initiative," said Linda Long, owner of Cartridge World of Lodi. "This sponsorship is for a great cause and we're glad to be able to contribute to such a beneficial community effort."
Cartridge World of Lodi will have coupon books available for purchase during normal business hours, Monday through Saturday. All funds received for the coupon books will be given to the Lodi High Band Boosters. Coupon books may be picked up at the Cartridge World store at 22 W. Franzia appears on Lodi wine Web show
Wi-Fi TV, Inc. announced on Friday that Fred T. Franzia, president of Bronco Wine Company in Ceres, has made a rare appearance on www.WineNationTV.com. The show is one of the fastest growing shows on the Internet.
The first episode in a three part series aired at noon on Friday on www.WineNationTV.com. Episode Two premieres on Sept. 12, and episode three begins airing Sept. 19. Viewers can watch the episodes on-demand. The episodes also will appear as part of the regularly scheduled programming on the Web site.
"Fred Franzia is one of the giants of the industry," said Ricardo, the executive producer and Host of WineNationTV. "We are very fortunate and excited to have him as a guest."
Bronco is the fourth largest winery in the United States, selling over 20 million cases of wine per year with wine brands including Forest Glen, Napa Ridge, Forestville, Harlow Ridge, Fat Cat, Bad Dog Ranch, Crane Lake, Estrella and Montpellier. Their Charles Shaw brand (affectionately known as Two Buck Chuck), made for the Trader Joe's chain, is one of the most successful brands in wine history. Bronco's Fox Brook brand, created for SaveMart grocery stores, had annual sales topping over one million cases last year.
In the WineNationTV episodes, Franzia discusses many subjects, including growing up in the wine business with the industry's pioneers, elitism in the industry, demystifying wine, selling wine at a fair price, how larger volumes can make better quality wine and how "California should be the primary appellation for wines made in California."
"Fred Franzia covers a lot of territory in our interview," said Ricardo. "He has a lot of strong opinions on many subjects, and I believe these episodes of WineNationTV should be required viewing for wine consumers and everyone in the wine industry."

UnitedHealth Group gives access to financing
CYPRESS — UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) and its PacifiCare of California subsidiary are providing easier access to capital financing for smaller health care organizations that provide vital health care services to underserved, low-income and underinsured communities statewide.
The Capital Access Small Issuance Program — part of the California Health Care Investment Program, a 20-year, $200 million commitment to provide access to capital financing — is designed for smaller health care entities such as safety-net hospitals and clinics, public hospitals, and other qualified health care providers seeking capital between $1 million and $5 million, according to a press release issued by UnitedHealth Group.
Capital funding may be used for purposes that improve access to and delivery of health care services.
The Capital Access Small Issuance Program offers tax-exempt bond financing at interest rates often lower than those of conventional loans, maturity and term structure design flexibility and a dedicated team of underwriters and program investment professionals that help streamline the overall financing process.
Issuance costs are subsidized by UnitedHealth Group and PacifiCare of California through the current Grant Program.
"Smaller health care entities provide vital services to the underserved and underinsured in California's rural and urban communities and deserve access to the same types of financing used by larger organizations," said Bob Oberrender, UnitedHealth Group's senior vice president and treasurer.
UnitedHealth Group offers health benefits, including commercial and Medicare health plans to more than 3 million Californians, and partners with about 50,000 physicians across the state.
