Zastrow, Summerhays 2 under after first round
Paired with PGA Champions Tour veteran Bruce Summerhays, Lodi's Beau Zastrow carded a 2-under 70 in the opening round of the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links on Friday.
The best-ball score put Zastrow in an 11-way tie for 41st place after the first round of the three-day tournament. Zastrow, a senior at St. Mary's, is aiming for a spot in the top 22 in order to play the Pebble Beach Golf Links on Sunday. If he doesn't move up in the standings, he'll tee off on the Del Monte Golf Course on Sunday.
Individually, Summerhays turned in an even round of 70 to finish in an 11-way tie for 39th place on Friday.
Due to inclement weather, some golfers were unable to complete the first round on Friday. They will finish it up today before the rest of the field begins the second round.
