Beautiful Lodi finding the arts, from oil paintings to jazz
Updated: Wednesday, May 21, 2008 9:51 AM PDT
Just as Lodi loves its wine, Lodi loves the arts.
Whether it is performance or visual arts, there are venues in and around Lodi that make the area flourish with creativity.
One of the most popular Lodi art and wine events is the First Friday Art Hop.
On the first Friday of each month, from 6-8 p.m., Lodi galleries, studios, restaurants and coffee shops invite the public to enjoy entertainment and art. These nights give visitors a chance to talk to artists about exhibits of photography, collage, mixed media and painting.
If you want to see a performance, such as an intimate jazz concert or traveling ballet, Hutchins Street Square is the Lodi hub for live entertainment. You can see a schedule of monthly events at http://www.hutchinsstreetsquare.com.
