Lt. Cmdr. John Joseph "Biff" Lang Jr., 63, of Woodbridge, died Aug. 16. He was born on Oct. 12, 1944, in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Lt. Cmdr. Lang was raised in Gilroy and graduated in 1962 from Gilroy High School. He later resided in Merced for several years. He was a 21 year career Naval officer, flying EA6-B radar planes on aircraft carriers. He was also an avid golfer and a member of the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club.

He is survived by his daughters, Katherine "Kadi" Cole, of Akron, Ohio, and Christine "Chrissy" Mack, of Spokane Valley, Wash.; sisters, Judith Lang, of Lincoln, and Jayne Haislet, of Clarksburg; brother, Jim Lang, of Merced; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel at Donahue Funeral Home with Cmdr. Robert Thomas, U.S. Navy, officiating. Committal will be held with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Karl Ross, Post No. 16-American Legion, 2020 Plymouth Road, Stockton, CA 95209.

Donahue Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
