" Can we scale back on this "sculpture" and pay for some other more important things for Lodi/Lodians? Can this "sculpture" be made half the size at least? Geez

Didn't Lodi just receive a statue as a gift? "

Probably could have used the money for city park upgrades. Sand volleyball courts with lights, maybe? "

    " I have a few questions...
Where is the statue going to be placed?
Will it house several hundred homeless people?
Will it provide food to the needy?
Will it help look after the elderly and/or infirm? (Hello Meals-On-Wheels, here's a "Celebrate the Harvest" statue, you'd rather have that than a stinkin' kitchen, right?)
Will it contribute subsidies to the working poor?
Will it provide drug or alcohol rehabilitation counseling?
    Or....(my favorite)
Will it sit very very inactively "beautifying" a small part of town? "

" Acampo-Mom, you've said well what most Lodians aren't aware of and their own council and management don't really want them to know. It's great that this little item was even printed in the paper. It should be a bi-weekly notice but, unfortunately Galt news usually supercedes issues lodi citizens should be aware of. Selling newspapers in Galt is a priority, in my opinion. "

" Acampo-Mom, that's a great question. I about fell over dead at the council meeting when they approved that $150,000+ "statue. I always thought there was a 10% down payment until the final goods were delivered? Does Lodi give all their contractors and subs 50% before they even start the work? What's going on council and manager King? That's like a loan, not a payment. "

" I don't live in Lodi, so I may not have any right to say:

Ummmm $76,500 to Rowland H. Cheney for a half payment for the upcoming "Celebrate the Harvest" sculpture???????????

    emphasis on the ????????

    half payment? "
