Morada team places third in state tourney
The Morada Little League 11s baseball team recently placed third at the Northern California Championships in Fremont.
Morada, which advanced to the NorCal tourney by winning the district and section tourneys, defeated Rocklin 6-2 in the opener but fell to Saratoga 8-4 in the second game. After beating Danville 5-3, Morada was eliminated when it lost to Saratoga, 9-2, for the second time.
Morada, which placed third out of 386 NorCal teams, finished with a team batting average of .358.
Players on the Morada team were Alex Busalacchi, Vinnie Cecchetti, Matt Gerlomes, TJ Gotelli, Bryce Graddy, Christian Hill, Jake Jensen, Jacob Lassas, Alex Meier, AJ Sambado, Ross Schopp, Jayse Vincelet and Brett Young. Scott Meier was the head coach and Scott Grady and Tom Goteli were his assistants.
