Would you ever clone your pet?

Asked by News-Sentinel photographer Dan Evans at the Lodi Stadium 12 Theater

Updated: Monday, August 11, 2008 7:02 AM PDT

Shannon Beckler
Lodi
Receptionist
"No. I think a pet is special, and when they're gone, that memory needs to live on as it was."
Bobby Wells
Stockton
Receiving clerk
"I'd have to say 'yes' because I'm very close to her."
Nick Daniel
Lodi
Unemployed
"No. I think it's wrong to play God. Really, if you're willing to clone your dog, you're willing to clone your kid. We're willing to change our lives for our own selfish needs."
Margarito Rivera
Lodi
Unemployed
"No, I wouldn't. If God wanted it to be that way, it would be that way. All that playing God stuff isn't gonna play well with a lot of people."
Jamie O'Mahony
Lodi Engineer
"No, because he's a troublemaker. The world doesn't need another one of him."

" You're right Cogito. I was very shelfish. I will endeavor to be more shelf effacing in the future. "

" Bob! Bob! Bob! Enough with the mean spirited treatment of MARZO. Are you tyring to strip him of his shelf-esteem! He may spend the rest of his life suffering from shelf-loathing, wallowing in his own shelf-pity. Don't you feel just a little ashamed of your shelf? "

Bob Loblaw wrote on Aug 12, 2008 1:56 PM:

" You are so wrong Marzo. Our shelves can do their own thinking. They don't need us and we have no right to think for them. My shelves are very intelligent and know what's what. One of my shelves what valedictorian of her class, so leave the shelves alone you shelf-hater! Idiot. "

" no to the pet. but we need executions bob. what about the victims? did they want to be killed? bob. maybe you should invite these people over for dinner? Oh, remember this God gave us free will. Meaning we have the right to think for our shelves. "

Bob Hussein Loblaw wrote on Aug 11, 2008 6:17 PM:

" People play God every day with executions, abortions, even getting your pets spayed and neutered, so we might as well clone too and avoid the hypocrisy.

BTW, I never "play" God. I take it very seriously when I use my god-like superpowers. "

" when you keep someone on life support, aren't you also playing god? "
