" The alltime greatest scene of one of the greatest movies of all time is when Paul Newman stands in front of the church window and says

WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS A FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE

just before the shots ring out. "

" My mistake. I've been pedalling so much that mountains are scariers than anything on tv now. "

" Rhodie, did you mean "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"? LOL, looks like I'm not the only one to mess up a movie title! But I have an excuse, I'm 50. "

" Bob, you're absolutely correct. My apologies to Mr. Evans. "

" BTW Cogito, I think he got the spelling of #2's movie right. The title was a play on words as I recall because it referred to a guy (chick flick viewing with my wife). "

" Cogito and Rhoadie, some great calls as well. When Raiders ended it felt like I had only been in the theater for 10 minutes. I also saw Jaws at the drive-in and remember my mom wetting herself because she was so scared. Good times... "

" I wasn't even 5 when the first sStar Wars came out but I'll trust y'all on it.

I remember seeing movies but I don't remember when they came out. The closest i remember was Jurassic Park. I think this was summer 'cause I was meeting my brother afterwards for some r-ball and swept him five straight games for the first and only time. I credit the adrenilum rush from the movie.

I also remember the first Indy movie (who can forget Nazi's melting at the end), T-2 he said he'd be back, and Mary Poppins, stupid babysitters choice.

Oh there was also the Rocky Mountain Horror Show as a good bye party for a friend going in the Air Force. "

" Sounds to me that they asked the first few people who stepped off the short bus. The first lady obviously thought they meant this summer. With the second lady, the reporter misspelled the movie title. The third lady likes one of the lamest movies of all time. The forth guy? Dee dee dee. The only one worth printing was the last guy, he made sense, and the proofreader didn't fall asleep. I'll agree with Bob, it's tough to beat Star Wars, but I still have a hard time swimming in the ocean after seeing "Jaws" at the West Lane Drive In. "

" Granted this is not the most important part of the paper and is supposed to be light, but these responses are mostly lame. It seems like Dan Evans took the first five answers he got and called it a day. Lazy.

BTW, I'll go with Star Wars, all 17 times I saw it in that magical summer of 1977. "

" Wait a minute!! The question is, 'What is your all time favorite summer movie?'

And Erik Walls answers, 'The Dark Knight. It's "supposed to be" really good.'

Now that's rich! Not knowing Mr. Walls' age, I would submit that he has actually watched a number of 'summer movies' during his young life. But to claim his favorite is one that he has yet to see indicates something a tad loose within his cranium. Of course, the 'man on the street' asking the question may have gotten it wrong, although the other four responses seemed to have gotten it right. "
