'Freedom Fest' at the Home Church
The Home Church in south Lodi will present "In God We Still Trust," a full day of celebrating God and America, family fun, barbecue and a concert with Solid Ground on Sunday.
Uplifting music and a compelling message are planned. The goal is to help reconnect with the roots of American faith.
The day will begin with the celebration at 10:30 a.m., followed by family fun from 3 to 7 p.m., a barbecue at 5 and the concert at 7. The church is at 11451 N. West Lane, Lodi. For more information, call 339-7333.
Buddhist Church to hold festival this weekend
The Buddhist Church of Lodi will host its annual bazaar and Obon beginning at 11 a.m. today and Sunday at the church, 23 N. Stockton St., and the Japanese-American Cultural Center across the street.
The festival will include Japanese food, dance demonstrations, martial arts and talks by the Rev. Harry Bridge on what Buddhism is all about. For more information, call 368-5589.
Summer music camp coming in July
Applications are being taken for the eighth annual summer music camp sponsored by St. John's Episcopal Church in Lodi.
The camp, for children in first through eighth grade, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 21-25. It will include singing, handbells, recorder playing, music theory, recreation and snacks. Music by Johann Sebastian Bach and Hal Hopson will be featured.

Lighthouse Boys coming to Lodi
A southern gospel group called the Lighthouse Boys will perform at 6 p.m. today at Harvest Worship Center, 510 Rimby Ave., Lodi. The group has recorded several albums.

Group formed for those left behind by suicide
A support group for people who have lost loved ones to suicide meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 604 E St., Galt.
Meetings are conducted by the southern chapter of Friends for Survival, based in North Highlands. It isn't a church-based program, and it isn't intended to be a substitute for professional grief therapy or counseling, said Mary Sanders, pastor at Shepherd of the Valley.
Whether one's loss is recent or several years distant, all who have had a loved one take their life are welcome to attend.

Benefit golf tournament
Horizon Community church in Galt will host a golf scramble to benefit Lodi's Pregnancy Resource Center at 1 p.m. July 26 at Lockeford Springs Golf Course.
Fee is $125 per player. The fee includes a cart with a GPS system, driving range practice, barbecue dinner and awards after the tournament.
