Come support WOW
The World of Wonders Science Museum is well on its way to opening its doors.
Construction has begun on Phase One of our 12,0000 square foot space under the parking structure on Sacramento Street. Chatfield Construction is managing our tenant improvements and has secured donated labor and materials from many generous contractors from Lodi and the surrounding area.
Ground was officially broken on May 6, and we poured the concrete floor Tuesday and Wednesday. This community has been so supportive in our huge endeavor. It is amazing to think that we have accomplished so much in four short years and we are so close to making the dream a reality.
We are very excited about our first fund-raiser in our soon to be completed home. The museum will be open to visitors for the first time on June 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. At our Cement Mixer "A Hardhat Affair," guests will be able to tour the site — still under construction — while sipping fine Lodi wine and enjoying hors d'oeuvres. Furniture, fixtures and improvements will be "for sale" with the donor's name permanently displayed in the museum. Every donation will get us closer to opening our doors in 2008!
Tickets to the Cement Mixer are $30 in advance (available online, at Beckman Optometry, Danz Jewelers, or by phone at 327-6369) and $35 the night of the event. This is a limited opportunity for you to be a part of the legacy of the World of Wonders Science Museum. Imagine taking your children or grandchildren to the museum you helped build. We are closer than ever to opening our doors, but we still need your help. For more information please visit our Web site at wowsciencemuseum.org.
