Ollie Gatschet
Enjoyed baking for grandchildren
Ollie Caton Gatschet, 96, of Lodi, died on May 25 in a local convalescent hospital following a brief illness. She was born on Oct. 14, 1911, in Dakota.
Mrs. Gatschet recently moved to Lodi from Shasta Lake. She had worked as a switchborard operator for William Randolph Hearst for several years prior to retirement. She enjoyed baking for her grandchildren, reading, watching football and watching the Giants play baseball.
She is survived by her son, Tim Gatschet, of Lodi; daughter, Mary Warner, of Lodi; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by in death by her husband, Paul Louis Gatschet, in 1985.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Donahue Funeral Home, 123 N. School St., Lodi, with Pastor Mike Abdollahzadeh of Lodi Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Committal will follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
