Today's shepherds speak much about inculturation. They say that women no longer need to wear veils as explained by I Corinthians 11 because present-day culture doesn't demand it.
This is nonsense to suggest that the culture promoted by the 1960s was more powerful than the church. The Catholic Church is the mystical body of Christ. It is supreme. Culture is allowed to dominate only through compromise (by default).
What are the sinister origins of inculturation? Antonio Gramsci, like Marx and Lenin, was a communist. However, unlike these two, Gramsci didn't believe that violent revolution would ever be victorious worldwide. He had a better idea.
In working as a drama critic for the socialist Italian organization Avanti, Gramsci developed this thesis: "That those who want to change society must first change men's consciousness."
To do this, they must control the institutions through which consciousness is formed: schools, universities, the arts and communications industry and "especially" the churches. Gramsci's famous battle cry was "Capture the culture."
Gramsci, the "intellectual" father of the communist party, wanted to replace the authority and leadership of the Catholic Church with that of Marxism by pulling the church into the political arena (reasoning — not faith in our Triune God's love). To defeat Catholicism, communists knew they had to meet it on their terms in the political arena.
Humanism, relativism and ecumenism are man-made traditions (not sacred tradition). Compromise is political and religious prostitution. The objective: To remove Catholicism from a narrow hierarchy of definite teaching by placing it in the general crowd of many churches (bodies) without the one body of eternal truth and authority. "Culture's only power is through compromise."
If a Catholic world leader violates the marriage covenant, he must not receive the holy communion of John 6 (the Eucharist). His renown status doesn't change this Catholic teaching. Catholics must follow our Triune God's traditional ways — not Gramsci's compromise.
Peace (Isaiah 9:6) resides in Christ — not the ungodly United Nations.
