The junior won the "B" Flight at the Stanford Invite last Friday after clearing a NCAA Regional qualifying 12-feet, 7.5 inches.

Pro: Tampa Bay Rays

The shortstop had a double and a single as the Rays (2-2) beat the Yankees 6-3 last Saturday. He smashed a two-run single in a 13-4 win over the Yankees last Friday. He collected a hit and an RBI in a 6-2 win over Baltimore last Monday.

The junior first baseman was named the Pac-10 Conference Player of the Week for the week of March 25-31 after going 8-for-16 with two doubles, two home runs and three RBIs. He had a single, two RBIs and a run scored as the No. 7 Golden Bears (21-7-1, 4-2) fell 9-2 to Oregon State on Sunday. He hit a two-run home run in a 9-3 victory against Oregon State last Saturday. He added a single in a 5-4 win over Fresno State last Wednesday.

Pro: Duramed Futures Tour

Ferrero finished tied for 24th after posting a 74-72-74— 220 to finish 4-over par at the American Systems Invitational over the weekend at the LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, Fla.

College: McPherson College

The 6-foot-1, 245-pound linebacker signed with the Bulldogs and transferred to the NAIA school for the spring semester. The former Delta College defensive lineman finished last season with 14 tackles and one sack.

JOSH ORMAN

High School: Galt High

College: Minot State

The 5-9, 180-pound defensive back signed with the Beavers and transferred to the NAIA school for the spring semester. The former Sacramento City College standout finished second on the Panthers with 88 tackles and added 2.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery en route to being named first-team All-Mid Empire Conference last fall.

The senior placed 10th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.79 and 38th in the 200 meters (27.12) last Saturday at the Auburn Tiger Classic.

The sophomore catcher had a hit, two RBIs and a run scored for the top-ranked Bruins (35-3, 7-0 league) in a 7-6 win over No. 24 Washington last Wednesday.

The senior designated hitter had a two-run single for the Gauchos (23-14, 6-0 league) in a 5-1 victory against Cal Poly last Saturday.

The sophomore right-hander gave up one earned run in 5.2 innings of work while striking out seven batters and walking three as the Broncos (17-11, 3-3 league) defeated the University of Portland 14-4 last Saturday.

The junior right-hander gave up three earned runs for the Warriors (25-13, 17-7 league) in a 13-2 loss to No. 12 UC San Diego on Sunday. He allowed two runs in two innings and had a strikeout in a 9-6 loss to UC San Diego last Friday.

The right-hander (6-1, 185) allowed two runs on two hits (1 K, 1 BB) in two innings of relief for Wisconsin, a Single-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, in a 4-3 loss to Quad Cities last Friday.

The junior outfielder had an RBI single for the Tigers (25-19, 4-6 league) in a 2-1 win over Truman State last Saturday.

The freshman carded an 84-83-87— 254 to finish 38-over par and help the Huskies come in 13th place out of 17 teams at the Ping/ASU Invitational at Karsten Golf Course over the weekend.

Pro: Tulsa Drillers

The right-hander struck out three batters and didn't allow a run in 1.1 innings on the hill as the Drillers (1-3) beat San Antonio 7-2 Sunday. He allowed four runs on three hits in one inning of work last Friday in a 15-5 loss to Corpus Christi.

The sophomore second baseman is batting .379 with one home run and 19 RBIs for the Mustangs (13-16, 2-5 league).

After a strong 2007 campaign, the left-hander had a rough start to the 2008 season, allowing five runs on four hits (4 Ks, 5 BBs) as Bakersfield, a Single-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, lost to San Jose last Friday.

The freshman outfielder is batting .282 with one home run and seven RBIs.

The junior right-hander is 2-2 with a 7.48 ERA and has 27 strikeouts in 43.1 innings on the mound.

College: UC San Diego

The junior thrower had achieving marks in the shot put (35-11) and the discus (108-5) at the Point Loma Invitational on March 29. She competed in the hammer throw (119-1), shot put (35-2) and discus in the UCSD Divisional Challenge on Saturday.
