Lodi International Wine Awards featuring tours
The future of wine tasting is coming to Lodi, and wine lovers are invited to learn all about it. The Lodi International Wine Awards, a closed-judging event, will be offering tours to the public.
Judging of the wines entered into the competition will be based on a system that takes the number of a person's taste buds into account.
Tim Hanni, the developer of the system, created an online test that helps a person discover the wines they would most prefer. The test, the Bud-O-Meter, can be found at http://www.budometer.com.
There will be three two-hour tours on March 11, the day of judging. Each tour is limited to 18 people and the cost is $35 per person. Tours will be held at 8:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Tours will depart from the Lodi Wine and Visitors Center at 2545 W. Turner Road. Deadline for tour reservations is March 7 at 5 p.m. and can be obtained by calling the Lodi Conference and Visitors Bureau at 365-1195.
