Lodi Police Department
In the 48 hours since 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department made 28 arrests and handled 338 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:
Tuesday
9:22 a.m.: After dining at Lyon's Restaurant, 233 S. School St., customers left without paying for their food.
9:30 a.m.: Someone heard what sounded like a child being beaten in an apartment in the 400 block of East Locust Street.
10:41 a.m.: Child molestation was reported.
10:56 a.m.: A man was letting a small child drive a car in the parking lot of Lodi Lake, 1310 W. Turner Road.
11:22 a.m.: A disabled adult was possibly being molested.
12:35 p.m.: Someone used a forged check at Rancho San Miguel, 620 S. Cherokee Lane.
12:53 p.m.: Nobody was injured when two mauve Ford Crown Victoria cars collided on Wimbledon Drive.
3:32 p.m.: Someone was throwing bones at a neighbor's house in the 500 block of East Pine Street.
3:52 p.m.: A drunken man and woman were hitting each other at Two Palms Trailer Park, 1651 S. Cherokee Lane.
4:14 p.m.: During a dispute over child custody, someone let the air out of a vehicle's tires in the 1200 block of South Central Avenue.
4:19 p.m.: A home in the 300 block of Poplar Street was ransacked, and the front and back doors were left open.
4:49 p.m.: A woman in a white Jeep Cherokee was trying to run over a man on Brandywine Drive.
9:48 p.m.: The female driver of a Volkswagen with paper plates was arrested for driving under the influence in the 1100 block of Victor Road.
Wednesday
1:04 a.m.: An unlicensed 28-year-old man was stopped not only for driving on the wrong side of the road but also for being under the influence at Crescent and Lodi avenues.
8:22 a.m.: A 12-year-old was trying to hit a principal with a stick behind Vinewood School, 1600 W. Tokay St.
12:01 p.m.: Juveniles were boxing: gloves included: in the parking lot outside Dragon Lite Deli, 1321 Lakewood Mall.
2:14 p.m.: After carving their names in tables at House of Coffees, 100 N. Ham Lane, suspects headed across the street to Starbucks.
2:24 p.m.: Nobody was injured when a street sweeper was involved in an accident in the 400 block of South School Street.
3:13 p.m.: Six people were armed with bats and were physically fighting at Hale Park, 208 E. Locust St. In the process, a windshield was broken, a male was bleeding and someone had a warrant.
6:51 p.m.: Several comic books worth $300 were stolen in the 0-100 block of South Sacramento Street.
7:53 p.m.: A man in his 20s was soliciting in the 2800 block of Stratford Lane. The man, who had a tattoo on the back of his neck, started a fight when a resident refused to make a donation.
8:57 p.m.: Ten people in a red Ford Expedition were fighting three people at In-N-Out Burger, 2625 W. Kettleman Lane. The dispute was apparently over money, and someone possibly had a gun.
10:52 p.m.: The driver of a white Chevrolet pick-up truck with no license plates was stopped for being under the influence at Lodi and Central avenues.
Thursday
1:14 a.m.: A 28-year-old man was beating himself in the head on Mariposa Way.
1:32 a.m.: Though he was wearing a hospital gown and was still hooked up to an IV, a drunken man left Lodi Memorial Hospital, 975 S. Fairmont Ave. By 1:51 a.m., he had made it to the 1300 block of West Century Boulevard and was trying to get into an apartment.
7:07 a.m.: A child was hit by a vehicle at Ham and Kettleman lanes.
7:51 a.m.: Injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash in the 1400 block of West Vine Street.
9:08 a.m.: A teen took off running after placing a black bag against a tree near the tennis courts at Legion Park, 835 S. Hutchins St.
