The sophomore forward was diagnosed with a broken rib earlier this month and has not played in the Vikings' last six contests. Thomas is out indefinitely.
"I'm not exactly sure how it happened," Thomas told The Oregonian. "The doctor just told me it was going to take some time and to rest up. That's the only thing I can do for it. Basically, it depends on how fast my body heals."
Thomas, a key reserve off the bench, was averaging 3.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in 18 minutes a game prior to the injury.
"I think what hurts more than anything is that Julius is our most aggressive inside player," Vikings coach Ken Bone told The Oregonian.
