AIDS exhibit coming to First Baptist

The community will have the opportunity to walk through the gymnasium at Lodi's First Baptist Church to experience what it's like for a child to live in an AIDS-infected community in Africa, on Feb. 28-March 3.

Produced by World Vision, people will become part of an audio tour with photography designed to transport you into the heart of Africa.

The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 28-29; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on March 1; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 2; and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on March 3.

Lenten soup supper at St. John's

A Lenten series of soup suppers and classes will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church on Thursdays through March 13.

Evening prayer will be held in the chapel at 5:30 p.m., followed by fellowship and soup in the church from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Classes for the entire family will be held after dinner.

The adult class, led by Father Basil Matthews, will be based on the book "Pathways to God: Four Weeks on Faith, Hope, and Charity," by Robert F. Morneau.

Marriage retreat offered

A retreat intended to discover the love that God intended for you to experience in your marriage will be held April 18-20 on the Monterey Peninsula.

The retreat, organized by Lodi resident Loren Geiger, will be held at the Lighthouse Lodge and Suites in Pacific Grove.

Spaghetti dinner at St. Anne's

The fifth-grade class at St. Anne's School in Lodi will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anne's Hall, Church and Walnut streets. Students will help plan, prepare, decorate, advertise and serve the dinners.

Takeout and drive-through service is available. Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for seniors and for children under 12. Proceeds will be used to send the students to science camp.

Tickets will be sold at the door, or they can be purchased by calling the school at 333-7580.

Entertainment Sunday at Galt First Baptist

Richard Christenson, with a guest performance by the trio "Promise," will be at First Baptist Church of Galt, 653 A St., Galt, at the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday.

'Caring for People God's Way'

A six-week session about Caring for People God's Way will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Tuesday. The first session was this week.

Topics include life challenges, past hurts, feeling alone, being overwhelmed and needing encouragement.

Divorce recovery workshop

A six-week workshop for people experiencing the pain of divorce or the break-up of a long-term relationship will be offered beginning March 4 at First Baptist Church, 3535 N. El Dorado St., Stockton.

The workshop will focus on how to deal with grief, fear, anger, loneliness and depression. Topics will include how to let go, forgive and possibly love or trust again.

Children dealing with the breakup of their parents may participate in the "Banana Splits" program while their parent is attending the workshop.

The workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday through April 15. Cost is $40 and $25 for children. The fee includes classroom materials, books and dinner. For more information, call Sheri Dentone at 472-7550 or Glenda Baker at 466-4368.
